As far as I know, there isn't one. I'm guessing they won't put one in place until the whole sale of Caesars to El Dorado is finalized.

Also, I think Bill didn't really do very much besides sit in his office and hide out from customer service issues, so he probably isn't missed. As you've seen, WSOP seems to be functioning the same way without him.

Any reason for them not to just keep the identity of whoever's running WSOP online unknown?

It might be a joint effort, or someone just taking on the extra work for the time being.

    BUMP

Danielle Barille appears to be the new manager of WSOP.com, according to a press release about the WSOP Online Bracelet events in 2020:

“We believe the 2020 offering of online gold bracelet events features our best schedule yet,” said WSOP.com’s Director of Online Poker Danielle Barille. “This year we offer a consistent schedule of Sunday events every week of the WSOP, plus a special selection of eight events from June 28 to July 5 to coincide with the biggest week of the live WSOP when most players are in town to play.”
I don't know much about Danielle. Here is her Twitter: https://twitter.com/YeeGone

    Here is her picture:

I tweeted to her and asked her to confirm that she's taken over Bill's position, but haven't received a response yet.

Seems like she has little social media presence. She hasn't tweeted in over a month.

Yeah, everything does seem pretty status quo over at wsop.com. It almost seems as if they're complacent for now muddling along as a failsite, hoping to maybe make money in the future if bigger states join online poker legalization. They've made no effort (to my knowledge) to get into PA, which makes me think that it's not exciting to them unless some really big players like California enter the market. They do have a casino in PA, so I would think licensing wouldn't have been an issue.

jesus Christ I didn't know that...that's just unfucking real and shows how much of a mong corporation the evil empire is...if stars went into PA gonna guess that it didn't require that much extra to get a site up and running like some crazy regulations that NJ didn't have...

I doubt that they need to run dedicated support or something like that in state so there is exactly zero reason for them not to have an online presence in PA...I cant imagine in a state as big as PA that the licensing fee even as steep as it is would be a deterrent...plus the more states you add the more you get out of your fixed costs like support, game security, etc...

fucking morons, each and fucking every one of them...

Rini took to Twitter for the first time in months to call out "some American scum".

So who was he calling out, and why?

Well, he started out with this tweet:

Try clicking the image and zooming if you can't read it.

    What?

    Still can't read it?

You need to go to the eye doctor and get yourself some reading glasses, old man!

Actually, in typical Rini fashion, his initial silence-breaking tweet was a blurry image which was impossible for anyone to read. Fail.

But then he clarified with a readable image.

So the above is the huge scandal here.

"Wait a minute", you might say. "This doesn't look scandalous at all. Where's the problem? Where's the American scum?"

I wondered the same thing. It appeared to me that a bunch of online MTT tournament players got together and decided to demand structure changes, with the eventual threat of a public boycott of these sites (ACR, Bovada, WSOP, etc) if they refused to change anything.

I don't see anything wrong with this. People are welcome to demand all the changes they want, and boycott what they want if they're unhappy.

    However, Bill saw it differently.

He accused Chance Kornuth, Ryan Laplante, and Ryan Leng of.... extortion?!

Now you may ask, "How was this extortion?"

Good question. I wondered the same thing.

    Dumb.

There was no extortion, no scumbaggery, and no unethical behavior. Bill is a crazy and bitter man.

Oddly, he tried to accuse Laplante of using this scheme for the purpose "getting poker rooms to pay your coaching sites to back off and giving you money to promote your sites", but Laplante came back stating that his training site didn't even exist then, and made a veiled warning that Rini might get sued if he continued with such false accusations.

Rini also posted like 10 tweets with separate small bits from a chat conversation he had captured of this all being discussed. None was very interesting, and it's not even worth posting here. Seriously. Go look if you don't believe me.

I just wonder what set Rini off, and what made him come out and "expose" this non-story after not tweeting since October. He doesn't even work for WSOP.com anymore, and he's been retired for almost 6 months.

Clearly he's been holding in major resentment about this, and has imagined all this time that pros were "extorting" him, when in reality they were just trying to apply some influential pressure to get structures improved/changed.

    What a weirdo.

    Nope.

Seems she barely uses Twitter, and when she does, she just quickly posts a WSOP.com promo and doesn't interact with anyone.

The lack of leadership there has been astounding.

A mysterious person is tweeting from the WSOP.com account, and is getting owned pretty hard by the public.

So at first they say it's a "regulation" that they have to charge people for having dormant accounts after 12 months. Then they admit that it's not a regulation, but a decision on their part ("policy"). It seems they're implying that this is a regulation in New Jersey and/or Delaware, but I don't believe that it HAS to be done. I'm sure it could be circumvented or waived in some way if they wanted. Often "regulated charges" do not mandate that the charge actually takes place, and they almost never mandate that you can't credit back the equivalent amount to offset it.

Seems like a lot of bullshit to me. And even if they HAVE to charge this in NJ, there's no reason they also have to in Nevada.

Why not just suspend this idiotic and pointless charge, at least until this coronavirus mess is over?

    Talk about clueless.

Party Poker did that after 90 days I believe it was.

I withdrew my balance & deleted the software & that was the last time I ever played there.

On a related note, if you want to know more about Danielle Barille, but don't want to take more than 2 minutes to learn about her, you're in luck.

Here's a video from August 2019 where she was given the "Caesars Award of Excellence" for "innovation" of WSOP.com. Which is funny because WSOP.com isn't at all innovative in any way.

You'll see appearances by Bill Rini (about a month from quitting) and Ty Stewart (boss of the entire WSOP), and even Seth Palansky in the background at one point.

Danielle comes off as softspoken and hard working in the video, so I don't understand why she's so inaccessible on Twitter since (presumably) taking over as the cardroom manager. She was described as "Senior Manager of Poker Operations" at the time, so it's not hard to believe that she got promoted to get Bill's old job. I even wonder if she got this award in preparation for taking Bill's job the following months, which seems like a planned departure.

I wonder why they are doing their best to hide that she's in charge now. Perhaps she's shy and doesn't want the attention? Weird.

This Pocketfives article about Matusow's meltdown quotes Danielle Barille as the "Director of WSOP Online Poker".

    https://www.pocketfives.com/articles...hreats-631550/

Not that we didn't know that already.

She's been a bit more active on Twitter, but still isn't directly stating she's in charge.

I am predicting that Caesars will bring in someone who is hungry and has the smarts and dedication to bring it to the next level. My theory is due to the COVID 19 resurgence they will need WSOP online to be a money producer regardless of how many people live in those three states. Maybe by making huge tournament guarantees and comping people hotels and takeout , stipends, free delivery of booze, rakeback, and better selection of games. Some of these things might attract people to travel to Nevada and Jersey..

Most poker players are DEGENS, its in their DNA. They will get hungry for action. Live poker will not be like the past. At least for another 12-18 months.

    Mr. Druff:

I'm sure you will get around to covering the latest claims of ghosting and multi-accounting on WSOP.com, hopefully next radio. I've said it before, this is a job you should be seeking (even it's with the evil empire).

Forget about petitioning the Nevada Gaming Commission regarding fake guarantees as that will be a total waste of your time and energy. You are best suited to clean up WSOP.com as it expands into more and more jurisdictions. I am guessing that you would get tons of support from the online community. Probably comes with decent health insurance benefits too.
