I like my Android phone just fine but I cant trust it with sensitive data without uninstalling a fucking ton of guilty pleasure apps and thats frustrating.
Im trying to wait patiently for my perfect device; an iPhone with a substantially larger screen than the iPhone 5, but ultimately Ill probably cave and get one in the meantime.
I dont use apps that I have even a slight distrust in.
I read about them first, see what the reviews are, look who makes it, etc. And generally, I dont pay for any apps.
i dont have data handy on where the bulk of android malware comes from honestly. its of little operational significance to me so i tend to scan the white papers for the more salacious declarations and ignore the rest.
that said if i had to make an educated guess id say china based on the wealth of PII on the average facebook-enabled device, for example.
VWLS,
Thats the thing. I dont feel I need to stand at the top of the mountain and brag all day about my GS3. The stats/comparisons do the talking.
Its all of my Apple friends who are having orgasms because of the new one.
People camping out in the rain for two days here in Chicago were interviewed, and many of them seemed brainwashed. One douchebag celebrated by leaving the store with his new phone, extending his hands in the air to celebrate, and then dropped his phone on the cement.
Pretty sure google maps is gone with the new OS as well.

But its still not an iphone, its an ipad, and its much bigger than an iphone.
Honestly I just dont see your point here.
And posting a picture of a middle finger being raised is especially weird.
You must be terrible at fishing. Admit it. Admit that Im the superior angler. You'll feel better if you do.
Tine,
Is there a website/blog/page where people can go to see what apps have proven to be malicious?
ic you want a phone. must a mis red your post sry.......

have been fishing at the mouth of the capalano river lately caught a nice chinook maybe 5lbs, on thursday 4of the 5 fish i had on were sniped by a seal and ended up reeling in a fish head so ya its not going so good. will bring a seal club next session.
i feel you probably have a edge on me just with sheer volume. i have been busy with a project and have not got out a lot, my son has fished more than me with his grandfather.

Not asking you to stand on a mountain - but if you are truly holding a better phone, then please share the facts. The things I love about my iPhone are Siri (I can't really live without the Siri feature at this point, because it does stuff for me while I'm driving that make my life a million times easier), the camera (now because they added the panoramic option), the endless plethora of apps to choose from (althoug let's face it, I really only use like 10 out of the millions), the Internet browsing, and the free texting. Probably a couple of other things but those are the main ones.
Things I don't like are: email interface could be a lot better; size of touch screen obv, image and image posting a real pain in the ass for forum browsing, replying to forum posts also seriously fucked; text copy and paste needs improvement on all web pages; lack of Flash capability.
I'm not in any hurry to buy the iPhone5, and people who camp out to buy shit are insane imo.
Like I said, if there is something better than iPhone, given the things I use and appreciate the most, I'm totally open to hearing it.
Id lose it if seals cleaned me of a fish like that.
The season here started out on an absolutely amazing note with good water flow keeping a huge volume of trophy size fish happy and active but we had an enormously dry summer punctuated by 12" of rainfall overnight last week that took the Beaverkill from 180cfs to 5200cfs in 24 hours. The entire watershed was basically impossible to fish for days, which sucked. I used it as an excuse to fuck around on the West Branch, which honestly fishes like the Yellowstone (great if thats what youre into), and the East Branch which is virtually unfishable beyond the morning and evening hatch.
Regardless it was good to be out there. Fishing the same pool where Theodore Gordon introduced dry fly fishing to America is a fairly profound and moving experience but diminished considerably by the poor water conditions.
I fully intend to be back here in spring but if Im not, it will be because Im steelheading in earnest on the Deschutes over around Portland.
