Uneducated? Sounds like the entire NBA during the Colin Kaepernick/police brutality saga.
And they should. Just an awful and unwatchable product that the league has ruined. And at this point the ledge has lost control of the narrative and the networks have to run with the elephant in the room because it simply can’t be ignored any longer. The browns coach came out this week and basically said he would be fined/fired if he got into the officiating but “just watch the game”..... and everyone in the room knew 100% what he was talking about and was in complete agreement.
I’m an ex college official. My honest opinion is shit can the entire roster and start over. Have tryouts at the college level and take the best of the best. There are literally thousands of guys who would kill for a chance to work in the NFL. Get rid of all the politics of officiating and stat over. Next is get rid of challanges. No more reviewing plays. If a bad call gets made you get remanded - strike two you go back to the SEC and pray you get a second shot someday. Bad calls are part of the game. Don’t try and have a instant replay system that slows the game down try and paper over problems.

It’s because every ref is evaluated every singe week on every single Play. They go over the film and write up a weekly report card. If you miss a call you get dinged and you go to the bottom of the pile and have no chance at playoffs or getting promoted to Umpire, back Judge and eventually Referee.
15 years ago it was all based on common sense. Now the lawyers are in charge.

As a Lions fan I will say they messed up in other spots leaving too many points on the field with all of them field goals but still those penalties were completely ridiculous.
The refs clearly wanted the Packers to win that game and the league is dying to have Aaron Rodgers make a run again they have been for years but injuries have delayed that.
Don't get me wrong the Lions cause their own share of finding stupid ways to lose games but they also get the shaft like they did on MNF on several occasions throughout the years.
