It doesn't happen often. Probably a total of 5 times in my life at most, and I've been the one paying/managing the bill at restaurants for about 30 years now (starting from when I was a teen going out with friends).
Take a look at the link I posted. No chance you can say with a straight face that I was the asshole in that situation. It was shit like that. I imagine some people don't get into any confrontations because they will back down when the server is being unreasonable about something on the bill, especially if it's small money. I choose to stand my ground. Different strokes for different folks.
I also don't believe you've gotten into no confrontations, since you have admitted to flipping out on some chick at KFC because she wouldn't give your daughter a free cookie.
