The only thing i'll export is a change of attitude in regards to some things - especially difference between men and women. I'm still a strong feminist but i'm much more comfortable being manly than I used to be. Women here want men to be men. Strong, decisive, in control etc. I always used to find being dominant in a relationship to be awkward and I wanted everything to be 50/50 decision. In Russia women really appreciate it when a man takes control.

In terms of fashion there's no way i'll export anything. People in Moscow dress very very well. Women wear in the day what american/british women wear at clubs. But outside Moscow fashion is a time machine to the 90s.

It might disappoint you to discover that everyday things are basically the exact same as in the west. Russia is really, really normal (just with political repression). I think you'd not be shocked or surprised at all.

I studied Russian as a minor in university - improved drastically since I moved here and i'm now basically fluent.

Hecka fine thread here Mr. Tickle. Loved the Mafia cemetary. You mentioned political persecution. How many "official" political parties are there in Russia? Any Snowden sightings? Is crime, other the organized variety much of an issue?

There are loads of parties but none of them have a shot apart from the ones which support Putin.

BTW Putin doesn't have a party, he's indpendent.

Massive variables in play here. Depends on distance, how old the train is, where the train is going to and from etc.

For a 24 hour train journey you're looking at 50 USD for 3rd, 70 for 2nd and 150 for 1st.

had two days in Novosibirsk as I set up a rendez-vous with a girl so decided to stay the night here rather than move on.

Novosibirsk is the capital of Siberia and the 3rd biggest city in Russia.
