So how about we compromise . At the end of high school you have a choice . Get good grades and be a productive young citizen and get a FREE college education . Be a waste of space and time and be a mediocre citizen and welcome to the U.S armed forces .
You know what, if I was a U.S. citizen today I would vote for that deal you just proposed. Everyone has a choice. Some European countries have similar systtems. The options are a little different. Higher education or a trades program. Both benefit the person and the country in the end.

I will also agree that Video games could be a root cause for some of the problems in my country and parents possibly should be held accountable . I will be 50 in 10 days and we have come a long way from PONG and Pac Man . The games that depict, Rapes and Murders and Robbing and Stealing obviously are a problem when young men are immersing themselves for long hours in these games. I have a 17 year old living in my home who quit High School at 16 . I allowed this because all he did all day was play video games , never did homework and was a waste of time and space in school . He was taking a seat that another student who wanted to be productive could possibly have. The first couple months I assure you was a fight to get him to do anything now 6 months from that time he has done a 360 turn around. He is on a regular schedule sleep wise. He is up at 8am every morning is willing to help around the house . He has been working at a local pub/grill as a dishwasher . He is never late to work and is very productive per his managers word. He has bought himself a bike that he rides to and from work and is becoming a man . He contributes to the cable bill to give him some sense of what real life costs are. I very rarely see him playing his xbox as he now deferred to watching shows . He is to big to enter military service but will be getting his G.E.D and has recently showed interest in community college. Obviously every case is different but parenting plays a huge role .
