I started out dealing WSOP because it's the job I could get. I sucked at first, worked hard and got good which took several years. Yet my pay kept slowly going down. I like dealing tournaments especially the mix game stuff you only see at WSOP but they don't care about keeping dealers who know how to deal those. They just keep testing how far they can lower pay and still find enough bodies to fill dealer chairs. Who cares about mistakes, floors will fix them and players will keep coming because of the WSOP brand. I'm never going back unless pay improves which probably won't happen.

I understand players wanting low rake and long structures but there is a cost. The longer the tournament takes the more dealer downs are required to run it which means hourly pay drops unless the dealer takeout is raised proportionally.

Lower buyin massive field events are the current trend, but the tokes per down are lower.

I know OP personally and he can be a bit incoherent at times but he's a great guy and great dealer.
