Here are two unders starting soon (4:05 PST or so)

Orlando at Houston - Under 221.5 (222 on some Bovada accounts)
Toronto at Dallas - Under 220 (221 on some Bovada)

Chris Paul coming back. Count on that throwing a wrench into the offense and the pace.

I’m involved in a tennis academy start up. I’m concerned with the facilities end and their needs. Give them what they need.

I have been involved in pretty serious youth sports forever.

What blew me away about tennis was that the kids who get accepted into the academy snap quit school and are “home schooled”.

Between the travel from home to the facility, the number of hours every day of practice and
the tournament travel - formal school is impossible.

Its shocking how parents pull kids from school to chase a dream. We all know how few ever make it in any sport.

But parents will spend any amount of money (even money they don’t have) on their kids athletics. Somebody is going to take their money. It just rattles me to be around kids who quit middle or high school. Good luck with that.

Nick Bollettieri extended the Academy deal to baseball etc. Take everyone’s money. It’s IMG now. I meet baseball kids who go there for a year of post grad h.s. To get bigger or another chance at a scholarship next year. These are marginal kids with too much money.

The tennis kids have chaulk talks on court every day. I love reading the black board. The mental part of the game is a daily drill. By “mental” it’s all about not losing your temper or getting frustrated mid match. Take that moment to plan not act up.

You even saw it with Osake. She just won back to back majors at 20. Yet you clearly saw her have a melt down. Smashing her racket and carrying on. Even at that level. Tennis will wreck your mind. It’s golf frustration but for athletes.

I remember playing with my kids. Fun family thing. Choose up sides. But then about 8 or 9 it isn’t fun. Frustration and immaturity means thrown rackets and tantrums. Really embarrassing shit in public. I never felt sorry for them. I was prolly trash talking. Greatest lessons in growing up in my opinion.

    Random tennis thoughts.

Tennis is fucking expensive badguy. Were you a rich kid? Court time is $60/hr. now. Pennsylvania is cold. Indoor courts ain’t free.

Tennis is a rich persons sport.

I played it raw learning hitting balls off of Rosas wall.

Chick around here when i was like 14 had a free tennis thing right across the road from me where if I played tennis is were Iwould play. So I went.

She told my mom he is very good so I started lessons with her and started playing tourneys.
    She was in the olympics.

Funniest shit ever and how raw I was when we started she thought I had a great back hand. Cuz Im lefty and hit my forehand with 2 hands.

I also could hit a right handed forehand lol. So when we started she thought I was a righty cuz I could hit a right handed forehand with one hand.

Till she saw me serve. She taught me a ton I didnt no and it all worked.

She taught me the back hand with 2 hands and the rest is history but In tourneys when I first started I still get to balls with that right hand. She get so pissed. I also had a sweet back spin thing thinking that was my back hand but it was from my forehand side.. lol yea I was all fcked up but it played.

    Not much has changed.

I lost to a Kid named Aure always in these tourneys.

His whole family was in these things and he also played all the way up to the under 20. I met him 5 times and lost everytime twice in the finals but if u ask me he wasnt that good

I did this in between all other sports he did this as did his brothers and sisters always

I rolled in from the residential neighborhood in these things looking like I was ready for a pick up basketball game if my string would of broke I would of been using my coaches racquet LOL I had a sweet tennis bag though Prince but always used Head racquets. I also got orange strings after the first tourney lol.

But I loved every minute of it.

A forgotten force in tennis is this chick

Jennifer Capriati did a ton for tennis in the early 90s in USA

Houston game is kinda running exactly on pace for the line right now, and can go either way. As usual, Harden is a scoring machine and I do have to fade that, but the rusty Paul's presence might slow things down enough to win this.

Dallas game is a disaster and already unlikely to win.

OT monster might bite BOTH games, though for Houston/Orl it will ruin what turned out to be a great pick, and for Dalas/Tor it's probably losing anyway.

    But still.

Imagine how much $ someone would have made if they just blind bet on OT on all my picks since last season.

    We’ve had that discussion.

There is the saying: The good ones win comfortable and lose close.

You lose so close it’s tied.

    Is that good thing?

    Well, that's that.

    Another 1-1 day.

Guess I need to stop making 2 picks because that keeps ending up the result.

Not sure I agree with the middle part there buddy. Red Auerbach theory. Don’t matter if you lose by 2 or 20 it’s still a loss.

Show me someone who is 50-0 sportbetting and I’ll show you a sucker, rather deal with someone who is 80-20. Can’t be afraid to lose one every now and again so long as you are making good decisions.
