Exactly, must be like 5 yrs since China's Fat sick and nearly dead thread changed my life for good.
But Druff sounded like Trump a few pages back........."Nobody knew, exercise is good for weight loss"

I'd suggest a fitbit, not for the days you go hiking, those days will always be good.
For the lazy days. to make sure you hit the minimum.
IMO, Weight loss is a like gambling, in that one bad day/session can offset an unlimited amount of good ones.
If you hit 10k a day, (even if it means pacing the floor at 11 pm) you'll won't have as many bad days.

I've lost 30 pounds since 8 weeks ago.

Weight loss is no longer a goal of mine. It happened without me trying at all (something I never thought I'd say again).

The focus now is upon getting better. I'm actually not happy when I look at the scale and see more weight has fallen off, because eventually I'll be facing the situation where I need to avoid losing weight to stay away from being underweight.

Anxiety has been low since Friday. Not gone, but low. This is the longest streak I've had of reduced anxiety since all this started (today being the 5th day).

If I go to the Dodgers tonight, I'm guessing that will help even further, as that also seemed to be strangely therapeutic last week (probably because I enjoy being there so much, especially when they win.)

I do wonder if the Xanax helped, as I took that on Wednesday, felt a bit weird on Thursday (though not that tired), and then good on Friday.

The other time I took Xanax, my anxiety also seemed to reduce in subsequent days.

I do wonder if the "break" Xanax gives my brain from the anxiety might actually help somewhat.

LPR-wise, I am still using the Gaviscon, and I am again experimenting with the Mucinex (gauifenesin). I've noticed that taking it for a few consecutive days lowers the lump sensation and the choking, but makes my throat scratchy and my ears hurt a little. So I'm taking the day off from it. I might halve the dose to 200mg from my current 400mg, and see if that's a happy medium. The Mucinex is definitely not a cure, and in fact could possibly slow healing (because mucus will be thinner), but it definitely seems to manage the lump/choking symptoms to some degree. Some people on internet forums are also indicating that they've had benefit from Mucinex.

If I feel okay on Friday, I might do a short radio show in the evening or nighttime.

Gotta drink 450ml (15.2 oz) of this lovely stuff right now:

Then another 225ml in the morning.

These reviews say I might get "explosive diarrhea" and cramps: https://www.everydayhealth.com/drugs...ulfate/reviews

    I can't wait.

If you don't need daily updates, then don't read. I'll post whatever the fuck I want on my own site. It's all contained in one thread, so it's easy to avoid if you don't like it.

Anyway, I'm drinking the stuff right now.

Not a horrible taste, but not good, either. Having to drink 15 ounces of it is what sucks.

Yeah, kind of like a milk consistency.

It tastes like a watered down, not-very-good vanilla milkshake.

People on the internet suggested I refrigerate it first, which indeed helped. The lab didn't bother suggesting that, but when I asked them if refrigerating it is okay, they said, "Oh yeah, and it makes it taste better!"

Yeah, thanks for telling me that, guys.

Can't hate on the lab too much, though, because they agreed to make some small accommodations to make my life easier, such as propping 3 pillows behind my head, and inserting the IV for the contrast while I'm on a chair, rather than lying down. I explained the LPR situation to them and they were understanding about it.

So far no explosive diarrhea, and I took the stuff about 90 min ago. But the night is still young.

Gonna pop the Xanax at about 10:10am, so I can get the maximum benefit when the thing gets going a little bit after 11.

Never had the explosive diarrhea. Sorry to disappoint.

Went to the CT scan today at 11.

    Took Xanax at 10:15.

Brought nasal spray and Biotene dry mouth rinse to the appointment, and used both right before I was called in. (These were to lessen the sensations of the LPR.) Also chewed gum on the way there, which is also said to help with LPR.

Definitely felt a sedation effect from the Xanax, even though I only took 0.25mg. I didn't have a "good" or "high" feeling, but I felt kind of mellow.

They propped me up on the table with pillows, as promised. They inserted the IV while I was sitting up, which turned out wasn't all that much help because it was really fast. But I guess every little bit counts.

The time in the machine, maybe 10 minutes, passed quickly because it kept sliding me back and forth, telling me to breathe in and out, so it was enough of a distraction to where I wasn't just sitting there wondering when it was going to end.

Never felt even the slightest bit anxious, nor did I feel choking at all.

    Whole thing went very well.

Supposedly my results might be available as early as this afternoon, at which point I'll have to drive down there again if I want to pick them up. It's like 20 minutes away, but I'm impatient to know what was found, so 100% I will do the 40 minute round trip to get the results if they're ready today.

If this comes back normal or mostly normal, then I can put this "potential third problem" issue out of my mind, and will probably just get another blood test in 3 months or so.

I am still wondering if the once-per-week 0.25mg Xanax has a beneficial effect on my overall anxiety level, as the past week as the least anxious one I have had since this started. From what I can see, once-per-week 0.25mg Xanax is not harmful (either short or long term), so if that seems to be helping, I will keep up that routine, even after all the tests and dental work is done.

Next week will be the toughest test -- the video stroboscopy where they stick a flexible tube through my nose and down my throat for several minutes. Totally not looking forward to that one, but I'm hoping it will give some answers about the LPR.

I've read most of this, but not sure I have understood what exactly is causing you to be anxious -- apart from the potential devaluation of 7 star benefits?

What most likely occurred was that the LPR symptoms causing the choking when trying to sleep caused some kind of trauma after 5 days in a row, and it triggered some kind of anxiety problem I never had before.

Reversing it unfortunately isn't nearly as simple as how it started.

Druff, out of comraderie with respect to your situation, my body decided today to precipitate a medical emergency that called for going to the ER and have some tests down related to difficult of breathing, include a CT scan. Here’s the SFW digitial image proof:

And the good news is that the tests were negative. And I pulling for your results to also be good.

Hope whatever happened goes away, Mumbles.

I actually hate the ER and am kinda reluctant to go there. My last ER visit was in January 2014 when I had symptoms very similar to a ruptured spleen, a week after I broke 3 ribs. Ignoring that could mean death within 24 hours, so obviously I had to go.

I know you're older than me, so showing caution isn't all that bad. Hope your insurance is good. ER is expensive.

Or you could take the Master Scalir route and just stiff them.

Druff I was thinking about your anxiety and thought you might try a bit of nicotine gum or oral spray, a lot of the reason people smoke it is relaxing, some how nicotine has some calming affect.
I am not sure of how addictive it is but seriously what’s the worst that could happen.
