    Paul Allen Dies of Leukemia

    Kevin "Sonatine" Blanch reporting.

This is my source, what can I say.

Trippy thing is I know of another person who died of lung cancer and never smoked, was real healthy.
    Take nothing for granted.

Oh look, Americas Hat is once again trying to assert his dominance.

Not surprising that i posted literally a few times in the past months and yet here you are bitching about little old me. Oh no. The irony here is that both of you equally useless fucks are merely a shitstain that somehow hasn't been washed away permanently from this forum.

Oh and by the way, 1000 of you is still worth less than one Tony B.

PS - how many more times will you edit your 9,458th useless post?

the Seahawks and Trail Blazers will likely have to be sold---the federal estate tax is 40% of the market value at date of death, so if the heirs want to keep the teams they will have to liquidate other inherited items...

i'd sell the team, pay the tax, and keep the cash

He seemed to spend time on his 2nd yacht, Research Vessel (R/V) Petrel as his time ran out. Finding the USS Indianapolis was a true needle in a deep fucking sea.

A worthy use of some tens of millions.

The reason all workers deserve a living wage is because all workers need to be alive. Not very complex.

Paul Allen's sister Jody has long been seen as his successor with the Seahawks and I assume the Blazers.

When cells divide there is DNA errors. This is necessary and selected for, as errors/mutations are the building blocks of evolution. Cancer is a byproduct of a buildup of genetic errors over time.

For all intensive purposes cancer is an inevitable and necessary part of life, so the whole idea of "curing" cancer is flawed IMO. Of course we can develop better methods of detection and treatment, but the whole concept of "curing" cancer is a flawed one.

What I find most interesting is how in most species cancer will kill you off around the same time as other chronic disease. There are exceptions, but most dogs and cats the die of cancer will do so around ages 14-20 and most humans ages 50-75 (those numbers aren't exact but you get the point I hope). This is the same age range you are likely to die of other chronic diseases in said species, for example heart disease or kidney failure or whatever.

This indicates that each species has actually evolved (and probably been heavily selected for) basically everything to be planned to fall apart at once and for individuals to die out around a specific age range. This indicates that individual animals are actually "supposed to" (meaning there was selection) die at certain ages, probably because under conditions of limited resources (which was the case for most animal populations through most of time) it was advantageous for younger individuals not to have too many older ones around using up resources, among other reasons.

yes, but there is no exemption from estate tax when property passes from brother to sister...only when property passes from a deceased spouse to a surviving one...thus the tax will likely force sale of the franchises

You may be exactly right GR, and I need to walk back my previous post anyway since reports are conflicting and word on the street is that Jody has zero interest in the Hawks or the Blazers.

With Paul Allen being a man of exacting standards I'll bet there's a short list of potential suitors, the Hawks are a marquee franchise with one of the best buildings and HQ/practice facilities in the league.
