Why do women not report sexual abuse immediately? There are many reasons but I can't relate.

When a person is about to be appointed to one of the highest ranking positions in your society, you can't

Leeann Tweeden - The allegations: Tweeden, a radio host, wrote in an essay published on the website for KABC radio in Los Angeles that Franken groped her and kissed her without her consent in 2006 when he was working as a comedian. Tweeden said Franken scripted a kiss into the show. She said that Franken insisted on rehearsing the kiss, and when she refused, he allegedly “put his hand on the back of my head, mashed his lips against mine and aggressively stuck his tongue in my mouth.”

She also alleged that Franken grabbed her breasts while she slept on the flight home. She shared a picture that appears to show the alleged incident.

Lindsay Menz - The allegations: Menz told CNN that Franken grabbed her behind during a photo op at the Minnesota State Fair in 2010. Franken was serving as a U.S. Senator at the time of the alleged incident. She said that she had a cordial conversation with Franken, and then her husband took a photo of the two. Menz alleged that Franken “put his hand full-fledged on my rear… It was wrapped tightly around my butt cheek.”

Stephanie Kemplin - The allegations: Kemplin, an Army veteran, told CNN in a story published on Thursday that Franken allegedly groped her in December 2003. She said she was stationed in Kuwait, and she met Franken when he toured with the USO. She said that Franken groped her right breast while the two took a photo.

Tina Dupuy - The allegations: In an essay for the Atlantic, Dupuy alleged that Franken groped her at a Media Matters party during President Barack Obama’s inauguration in 2009. “He immediately put his hand on my waist, grabbing a handful of flesh. I froze. Then he squeezed. At least twice,” Dupuy wrote. “Al Franken’s familiarity was inappropriate and unwanted. It was also quick; he knew exactly what he was doing.”

Re: the Tweeden story on the Kuwait flight. That photo was staged and meant to be funny, but obv. not. It was set up. Others were watching. No one said he touched her in that incident.
All the other alleged events were enough for him to resign. I don't think he was pushed out but that's beside the point.

This case against Kavanaugh is no different. A women of some repute has risked the wrath of many by coming out with her story. It must be investigated fully before this man is appointed to the Supreme court
Not saying these women are lying but it's odd that a Senator would risk everything for a squeeze on the butt while a relative of the victim takes the photo.

If the allegations against Franken we're in the midst of a campaign I would have been more skeptical, but the fact his fellow D's abandoned him spoke volumes. They knew he was Handsey McHandserson so the allegations weren't difficult to believe.

The case against Kavenaugh is completely different. There aren't scores of women coming forward with similar stories, and even if we take Ms. Ford's claim at face value, it's a 35 year old accusation that can't possibly be corroborated.

She deserves to be heard, but there is no way this will stop the confirmation. It a delaying tactic by the D's and being done purely for political reasons. The D's don't give two shits about Christine Blasey Ford, they only want to destroy Brett Kavanaugh because he has the effrontery to be nominated by a Republican president.

Brett Kavanaugh's prospects of being confirmed to the Supreme Court suffered another major setback on Sunday night when a second woman accused him of sexual assault decades ago, and a prominent lawyer took to Twitter claiming a third woman has "credible information" on the high court nominee.

Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee are investigating another allegation of sexual assault against Kavanaugh, according to The New Yorker. Deborah Ramirez, who is 53, told the magazine that when Kavanaugh was a freshman at Yale in the 1983-84 academic school year, she remembers that he “exposed himself at a drunken dormitory party, thrust his penis in her face, and caused her to touch it without her consent as she pushed him away.”

Just as The New Yorker's story dropped, Michael Avenatti, a well-known Democratic lawyer, said he represents "a woman with credible information" about Kavanaugh and his high school friend Mark Judge, who Ford alleged was in the room with her and Kavanaugh at the time of the alleged assault. Avenatti posted on Twitter that he has "significant evidence" that Kavanaugh and Judge "would participate in the targeting of women with alcohol/drugs."

Avenatti told POLITICO he represents a group of individuals who can corroborate allegations involving Kavanaugh and his longtime friend in the 1980s.

Avenatti said he’d describe just one of the individuals as a victim.

“She will testify,” he said. “But before she does, she will likely appear on camera for an interview.”

He said the others were witnesses to the allegations. Avenatti would not elaborate on the number of clients but said he represents them alone.

“I represent multiple clients, they are witnesses. I’m representing multiple individuals that have knowledge of this, there’s no other attorneys involved,” Avenatti told POLITICO. Asked if the witnesses attended Georgetown Prep’s sister school, he said they went beyond that. “They went to schools in the same general areas. These house parties were widely attended.”
