OFFICIAL Freeroll Pledge Drive: Let's Guilt Radio Cohosts into a Show this week DAMMITT!

    I pledge:

    $25

    Running total: $25.

We are looking at you: khalwat/Traderusky/Brandon. Make it happen. A show without Druff as host. Just do it.

RULES (ONLY ONE): 1.) Show must have at least two of the above stated names on it live and must be at least 3 hours in length and must happen by this SUNDAY, but preferably tonight (regular radio night). If it happens, pledges pay up. If not, you owe $0.0.

Pledgers, please pledge as much as you can right here in this thread because the community needs you at this time. Guilt may be the only way. Druff has even said he will call in as a guest.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR PLEDGES AND TO ALL COHOSTS: THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND WORKING FOR NOTHING.

If that goddamn Belly-Buster run poker room is still down will someone just put a Hall of Fame emblem on this pledge drive and shutdown this thread already. God am I ever bad at organizing events. I blame Belly.

EDIT: Nevermind. Looks like PFAs Poker Room IS running. It's even set to go for 9pm PST tonight..

Fundraising is not my thing, usually, as you can plainly see. I am seriously considering cold call telephoning the law offices of Eric Bensamochan though.

I'll donate $100 if Brandon is one of the hosts. Haven't heard his voice in a while.

I think the biggest obstacle is that, for some reason, Todd thinks recording a weekly podcast requires 6+ hours of speaking. (length of show is also one of the most common complaints I hear from random people I meet at the table)

Just give us a weekly 45-75 min podcast like all those other successful pod casters.

Whoops. Somehow I misunderstood Gookie's message. Correction below:

    Forum Wars: $25
Pooh: $100 (only if Brandon is a cohost)
snowtracks: $20 (only if Brandon is a cohost)
    Gookie: $0

    Thanks, all!

Druff needs to talk about himself a minimum of four to eight hours a week. That's why he listens to the random show line when he walks his dog every night. He's sick like that.

If he ever makes a full recovery the comeback show is a favorite to run 24 hrs+

    Just an update on Brandon.

He has been frantically trying to get his new computer radio-ready.

He has spent HOURS on the phone (many hours, sadly) with Dell support.

    No luck.

I tried to help him, and also failed.

The built-in stereo mix function on his computer simply does not work, and the Indians at Dell have no fucking clue what they're doing. Now they're demanding they send out a tech to his house and replace his motherboard with a refurbished motherboard.

    L O fucking L.

Just about zero point zero chance it's the motherboard. Almost surely looks like a driver or registry setting issue. Sadly, this fix will need to come from the sound card manufacturer, and it's nothing I can figure out on my own (most likely).

    Still working on it.

FYI, the issue is that his microphone is not heard in stereo mix mode. He can put it on microphone mode and it works fine, but then you can't hear any sounds through his computer (meaning the listener won't be able to hear phone calls). He can put it on stereo mix and people can hear his computer sounds, but won't be able to hear him.

The "Microphone level" slider does NOT appear on the Windows "Speaker Levels" settings box, which I believe is the issue (or at least the main symptom of the issue).

There's probably an obscure registry key somewhere which will fix this, but I have no idea what it would be.

Geez, now I feel like a complete ass for setting up the pledge drive in the first place...I have always thought incredibly ridiculous minutiae and painful get-nowhere type situations like this occur when you are already having other bigger life issues...it seems to always be that way. Hope this catch up show does happen..

An Indian telephone scammer makes a terrible mistake.

    Someone recommended this to me.

Absolutely the greatest Indian computer scammer story ever told.

Leaves you with a great feel for the circumstances that result in India being the world’s epicenter of fail tech support and prolific phone fraud

Subsequent tales will always be measured against this.
