UFC could sue him for this, and it could be a pretty big payout too.

The way Dana is talking, it sounds like him and Conor are finished.

Dana White is a whiny bitch. Conor vs Khabib will happen in 2018 and the UFC will unapologetically promote it.
It's hilarious that we as a society think everyone can be a dr, a lawyer, an engineer. Some people are just fucking stupid. Why can't we just accept that?

the ufc has no choice but to sue him, he probably shaved 20% off their ppv buys.

He did more to promote ufc 223 than the UFC did in the last 2 months.

I think the buy rates for this card are +20%

And lol @ Dana. "Worst thing ever in UFC" .....seriously?

This industry really should unionize. I think Randy Couture was trying that. Get the top 5-10 trainers on board, get them to unionize their fighters, would need some of the top pros to join. Create a health care fund, minimum payouts, retirement fund, whatever. How can you train, etc. for so many years and the payout.. "a submission of the night" bonus? Most of the top fighters make what, 30k a fight. A few top ones make six figures, once or twice. Pay taxes, etc. and figure years of work on your own dime, and thats not a lot. Meanwhile I have to watch Dana white and the Fritata brothers become billionaires... About on par with Don King and boxing.

im very curious to see where this post-arrest bloodwork lands. i genuinely expect there wont be anything there. i really think this is likely physiological.

in any case he literally just had a kid. if that doesnt mellow you the fuck out, i mean, you got a problem.

also for those comparing this to jones' hit and run... nyc is not albuquerque, and no one at zuffa is going to lift a fucking finger to vouch for him considering a) whats come out of his mouth in recent weeks and b) there is a recent history of violence well documented on every social media network on the internet and c) that he just literally torched a main card in the most important market zuffa has opened perhaps ever.

seriously, consider how much money the ufc has spent on lawyers and influence to get the ny state mma ban overturned. and their biggest star just went absolutely berserk in the heart of midtown with a gang of foreign hooligans he flew in specifically to engage in mass violence. john mccain must be laughing his fucking ass off.

zuffa has two options; it can circle the wagons around a guy who hasnt fought in like 500+ days and quite possibly have their license to stage events in NYC and possibly the whole state revoked, or they can align themselves with law enforcement in a city with the most heavily funded and deeply militarized law enforcement agencies in the nation btw and offer to pay for new busses to throw conor under.

which one of those scenarios makes zuffa's stakeholders the most money?

im really not sure if nyc has made enough money off these ufc events to justify not sending conor to rikers for 60 days. words like 'terroristic' might end up being said in front of the judge and this aint the city you want to be standing in front of a judge in when someone uses that word to describe your actions.

I am just catching up on this story, so he flew in a flight full (how much did that cost, private I am guessing) of hooligans to NY to cause mayhem? they are going to make an example of him if that is the case.

its been floated a few times, most recently by hunt iirc.

bottom line, the fighters really missed their window.

pre-Reebok was the time to do it because there was enough meat on the sponsorship end to take the salary hit comfortably, because thats what you give up in exchange for that sort of seat at the policy table, but once that Reebok deal got signed, like you said, a lot of undercard fighters basically make less than minimum wage when you count their time and expenses from training.

i forget the exact numbers but someone broke down how a lot of fighters who are on the cusp of making comfortable money in the current system would have to walk away from that dream, probably forever, in order for unionization to take place.

a new org would solve this problem providing dana retires and the new guy fucks the ufc into the dirt somehow, providing of course that mma itself hasnt plateaued financially.

the option i would suggest they consider is a strike. zuffa cant compel you to fight legally.

i just picked up on this but probably others got there before me.. just in case:

mcgregor was let in by people who run his website, themaclife.com. i heard 'maclife let mcgregor and his crew in' and i thought maclife was like, the security people contracted for the event or something and they just assumed mcgregor should be there.

yeah themaclife.com is mcgregor's website. people working for it got media credentials. those people entered the arena and opened a side door to let mcgregor and his goons into the building.

    thats fucking incredible.

The NYSAC says random don't work for title fights (promotional titles, not even something they have any say over). Felder was the rando, and he got denied.

Everyone fucking everything up. Crazy part is, they used the UFC rankings as proof of Felder not being a proper opponent, even tho the UFC rankings are the most bullshit thing in the world anyway.

and quick reminder; conor flew like around the fucking world basically to make this happen in about 30 seconds.

Looks like Al gets the fight, though for him its a non-title fight while Khabib gets a title fight. 5 rounds, main event.

been following this guy for a few weeks, worth a follow IMO. Funny shit.
