Chaps' 2017-18 NFL $$ Thread
Druff good run.
What is your +/- units. Are these all -110 Or some better or worse?
Wentz may be done for the year. Pretty shitty, this guy is the 2nd or 3rd best qb in the league imo.

Actually I think one was +100 near the beginning, but whatever.
Anyway. assuming -110 (which is fairly close to the average), I'm up about 22 units after 102 bets (100 non-ties).
Win-loss is exactly 63% right now.
Perhaps most surprising is the fact that I've almost completely avoided losing streaks. I had one point where I lost 4 in a row, but that's pretty much it.
I have had very few days where I've gone 0-2, 1-3, or anything like that. Almost all days have either been winners, breakeven, or 0-1.
Not sure if that means anything.
Not sure how many picks I'll need to make before we can conclude that I'm +EV rather than just lucky.
san this one is for you...
How A Midlevel School Became The University of Adidas at Louisville

haven't read it yet, but fainaru-wada's shit is usually a good read...
We’ve beat the NCAA thing to death. The above article and Louisville is an extreme example of what goes on in all D1 schools.
Here is a little bit of a different take from me:
"If you had collective bargaining rights, there would have to be economic disclosures."
Meaning that if the college athletes were represented by a union, or a union-like entity, the universities would have to open their books to the negotiators.
Shit like Louisville would come to light sooner. Right or wrong there would be transparency. The sponsorships ain’t gonna stop. We enjoy the game. Just give the kids a taste and be above board.
It’s coming. The catalyst will surprise even me. Will it be PASPA repeal?
The sneaker business is built on sweatshop labor from manufacturing to kids representing the brand.
So filthy
Under Brady and Stills
Also going to give sexy Rex a shot first TD 6-1 or better

what an article...I don't think there's any catalyst for change to be honest...why would there be? kids don't have the power monetarily to challenge this stuff...give the northwestern kids a pat on the back for trying a few years back...
I go back and forth on whether there should be 'pay for play'...probably not, but if there's an enterprising youth out there who can capitalize on their image/performance then go for it...fucking jimbo can get 10 for 75 why can't a guy get 10K for signing his name to some shit (sounds manziel-esque doesn't it?)...
I wish I had 36 losses. In reality I have 37.
But okay... point me to a RELIABLE book which lets me bet -105.
I still need multiple books because of line differences (very important if you make a lot of bets), but I'm up for joining a -105 book provided they have a good record with payouts.
In the meantime, let's try to improve upon that 63.00% record by going with this totals pick:
Clippers under 214.5 (214 -110 ok)
And you probably know this already, but full disclosure, no Blake Griffin.
Speaking of the Clippers game, look at the spread.
Toronto has completely obliterated everyone recently, especially much-inferior competition.
The Clippers, who were already fairly bad with Griffin in the lineup, is without Griffin for awhile.
Yet Toronto is just -4.5 right now, which changed from 5.5, despite the fact that over 2/3 of the bets (and $) has been on Toronto.
This entire situation screams "Trapper John MD" and would seem to indicate that the Clippers is a smart bet, but this is just one of those situations where, no matter how I try to look at it, it's hard for me to picture the Clippers reliably covering this. I do realize Toronto is back-to-back on the road, which is probably the reason for this, but if there's ever a time to avoid taking what appears to be the sharp side, it seems like it's this one. The sharps do love the Clippers here. I still can't get behind it. I'll just take the under and root for no one to score.
I have been going through a bookie for awhile, but last time I checked 5dimes still allowed US customers at -105 lines, although I would avoid playing props with them.
Didn't you used to play live poker at Commerce? There are a ton of bookies in the live poker scene. And the ones that have been around awhile have good reputations. I have never had any problems with the ones I have used, but I am admittedly a loser, so no reason to give me any problems.![]()
I had a bad experience with a private bookie, fortunately only for not a large sum of money, and it's possible I can still get it back. (I got lazy about pressuring him, but I'm going to start up again soon.) I just feel like in many cases it's a negative freeroll, where they keep your $ if they beat you, and you don't get paid you're beating them and they're struggling overall.
Interested in hearing about 5Dimes, though, because my lines there are -110, and from what I've seen on their website, the -105 are only for select games, and I never see it at all.
If anyone has any info regarding 5Dimes lines being -105 for NBA, please let me know. Maybe my account is set a certain way to where I can have them change it. I forgot if maybe I chose something when I signed up there.
