The $50 she donated would have been binding in most circumstances, but since there was unused money from those donations, I decided to just let her take it back, as nobody was denied a prize by her doing so.

Here is my decision what is and is not allowed about Kilgore Trout on this site, provided that the situation remains that she didn't roll anyone here (and that she didn't commit scams within the poker community):

- Reposting or photoshopping pictures she has voluntarily shared IS allowed

- Posting her first name IS allowed

- Discussing her recent legal troubles IS allowed

- Posting her full name is NOT allowed

- Posting links to mugshot sites (or screen shots of them) which contain her full name is NOT allowed

- Posting mugshot site screenshots with redacted info which still allow the viewer to figure out her info is NOT allowed

- Posting mugshot pictures is NOT allowed

- Posting links to sites carrying info regarding her criminal matters is NOT allowed


I am trying to balance the community's best interests and ability to discuss relevant issues (in this case, a member arrested multiple times for fraud-related crimes) with the interests of privacy of that user here (someone with a recent criminal history who nevertheless has not harmed anyone on PFA or in poker, to my knowledge).

Just playing devils advocate because I agree with most of the above. But Garrett's mugshots are readily posted here. Im pretty sure he never rolled anyone. He didnt provide the mugshots. Same goes with Larry. Theres multiple pictures posted here that he never posted himself. And you allowed Hutmaster's info to stay up because "the cat was already out of the bag". That's a suicide smock. When you're arrested, they ask you if you feel like hurting yourself. If you answer yes (or if they believe for any other reason that you may try to hels yourself), they take every piece of clothing you have and give you this rip-proof, hang-yourself-proof garment. Garrett claimed that they gave everybody one when they get booked into Volusia county jail but a quick glance at 100-some odd OTHER mugshots from said county produced exactly ZERO mugshots of people wearing suicide smocks.

This isn't about $53. As I said, $50 of it was her own donation which never got used, so that's not a huge deal to let her take back.

This is about the community being nervous when a fairly new and active user has recent fraud arrests, and how people need to know this before something bad potentially happens. Because she's female and seems to be intelligent, the potential is much higher for her to build close personal relationships with members here, who will get to like and trust her. It's important that these people are not left in the dark regarding her recent past.

Had these arrests occurred 20 years ago with nothing like that since, I would dismiss it as youthful indiscretions and this would all be a non-story.

That's not to say that everyone on PFA needs a clean record, or that someone who got in trouble with the law recently isn't welcome here.

It's just that when I recognize that a member has a high potential to be liked and trusted by many, and then I find they are recently getting arrested multiple times for fraud-type crimes, it's something that needs to come to light.

FYI, there is NO EVIDENCE that there was any kind of long con involved, or that she was planning to roll anyone. It's very possible that these arrests are completely separate to her PFA life, and that she just wanted to be liked/accepted here, with no bad intentions. But we couldn't take that chance with keeping it quiet.

I think she was here for the same reasons 90% of women who go to male dominated forums, and stomp around showing off that they are women, posting pictures of themselves ect ect ect. We will never know for sure, but she seemed to truly enjoy this community, and even quietly listened to radio for almost 2 years before ever posting here. So she was aware this forum existed for quite some time.

There was no imminent danger over a period of 2 days, which is the timeframe we're talking about here.

To my knowledge, nobody even had any kind of financial dealings with her, aside from that small amount of freeroll money she was holding.

In a situation like this, unless it's an emergency, we need to take a short amount of time and figure out what to do.
