On Saturday, Corey Lewandowski (who was replaced by Manafort) was on Fox News blaming the "Clinton Administration". Hillary responded by tweeting that she loves watching Fox News because it's the only channel where she's President.

Facebook is set to testify tomorrow that some of those ads hit over 126 million Americans. I'm sure that in no way had an influence on the election. No possible way at all.

Do you really think the majority of people in 30 states want to be told that the only reason they went to the polls is because Russia tricked them into doing so? Because that's how it is being interpreted in Missouri, Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Florida that I know of first hand by socializing in each of those states when people bring this up.

The negative information about Clinton actually wasn't spread through social media enough in my opinion. Russia didn't sway the election with Facebook advertising.

They may not want to be told they're suckers who fell for misinformation, but many of them are just that. I don't know that there's value in showing them that they're stupid. Most often stupid people are inflexible people incapable of self-evaluation.

I live in a historically blue area turned Trump. These fucking people fall for literally everything. I've seen that fake Seahawks player burns American flag in lockeroom meme shared dozens of times.


I know of two separate families where the family patriarch, both successful individuals who would have voted Trump anyway, get so energized by the misinformation that they badgered numerous family members to the polls. The family members have zero interest in politics and never would have voted. A number had never voted.

That's how it works.

The target is someone who is likely on your side anyway, but it energizes them to influence friends and family who aren't paying attention. That pressure happens in every family and every election to a degree, but the talking points to influence others to get to the polls weren't the traditional arguments made to your wife, kids, and friends about why candidate x is better for them, but rather narratives that were wholly fabricated nonsense created in Moldova or some other eastern bloc shithole with the express purpose of playing on the base fears of unsophisticated people left behind in the current economy.

It's certainly not the majority of Trump voters who would have voted Trump anyway, but its a significant enough number to be decisive in the rust belt states that Trump carried.

Forgive me if this has already been brought up in thread, I haven't read it yet, but no one finds it a bit odd that both campaign managers were in ways connected at the hip? And that they both have shady connections back to Russia? Doesn't it seem like given what else we know that the Russians actually had already infiltrated the Obama administration with direct Clinton connections and that it was Clinton's campaign that was actually compromised from the start? The Uranium One thing isn't a nonstory however badly some of you want it to be. The Podesta group represented Uranium One, and I think that is just touching the surface, considering that they also represented Sberbank, I actually think still do. Skerbank is another name for Bank of the Kremlin. Irony.

The uranium is still in the USA and cannot be removed. Its use is still subject to strict controls. What Russia's troll army said was not true. And they spread it through social media. Nobody got up and went to vote because Russia said so. But who they voted for, and the information on which they based their decision, Russia definitely had an impact on that. Even if they only affected 0.05%, that would have been enough. The election was decided by a few thousand voters in swing states which were the biggest targets of Russian advertising.

Regardless, it's clear Russia and some other countries are TRYING to sway US elections, and measures must be taken to stop them.
