I believe in small government, less taxes, a free market healthcare system... I support our police, our military, believe in freedom of religion, freedom of speech, support the second ammendment (just not blindly), hate political correctness... I could go on... How is that socialism and not centrist?

I definitely side with a lot of conservative pov's and would have loved to have seen John Kasich as our president after all was said and done. It's the religious right and neo con insanity that I can't stand. I tend to lean on the side of science and pro choice. That's usually where I lean more left, but true conservatives believe in science and aren't usually bible thumping wingnuts.

This is what drives me crazy about such discussions. So many people just think in black and white terms. There are tons of socialist ideals in society (homeless shelters, high school education, public transportation) just like those which are capitalist. Neither is evil or horrible...
