larry is really good at pool and thats all i got to say about that
also the taxi driver i got to drive me home stole some of the burgers i ordered from carl rs which is prob the best burger shop in the usa
As bizarre as all this may sound, it really is the truth.
I met C$ in person for the first time about a decade ago. It was during the NFL sesson. He was visiting Vegas and had a booth at Lagasse stadium at the Palazzo. He invited me to watch a playoff game with him and another friend that was in town.
When I got there, I met his friend but was informed C$ was in a local hospital (I wasn't told why) but was expected to be released soon. He had left instructions for me to eat and drink all I wanted to on his tab.
I ended up watching two playoff games over a 6 hour period with his friend. C$ never showed up.
As I was leaving, I received a call from C$. He has just gotten released from the hospital and was lol on foot walking down Maryland Parkway, which is a seedy part of Vegas. I drove to where he was, picked him up, briefly chatted in the car, and dropped him off at his hotel.
He had been hospitalized for dehydration.
The real fun started a couple of years later. He had asked me to make a 5k bet on a boxing match. I don't remember the fighters name, but C$ certainly will. The dude was like +400. Huge dog. The fight was on HBO. I happened to be home that night, so I sweated it with him.
C$'s boxer was getting killed. Round after round, this dude was getting hammered. I remember him calling me before the final round and saying he needed some miracle knock out to win.
Fight goes to the cards. C$'s fighter wins in a split decision. I am stunned. What the fuck were the judges watching??? My phone rings. It's C$. He is in total disbelief. I don't even know what to say. Neither does he. This literally was like a 20k free roll.
I go to the book that night and cash his ticket. I get the funds to him the following Monday. Maybe he had a little doubt that a guy who he met once on a car ride from the hospital might roll him for 20k, but he got his money literally the next day the bank was open.
I don't work for him.
I don't nor have I ever received compensation for anything I do (such as handling money and contracts with the stakees). I do it because he has become one of my best friends, not on forums, but in life over the last few years.
He comes to Vegas, we eat like kings together. We gamble like degenerates. We watch a ton of football together. We both love eating this Japanese Waygu (we call it meat on rocks) that's served at Sushi Samba at the Palazzo.
He stayed at my house once.
During the aforementioned stay at my home, he decides to go for a jog around 10am. It's October, so the weather is perfect.
I notice around 1pm that he's been gone quite a while.
By 2pm I am starting to get a little concerned.
2:45 i finally get a call from him. He tells me to come outside.
There is a brand new Audi parked in my driveway. He lol decided he didn't want to jog back so he bought a brand new Audi R8. Yup. I said R8.
We drove it around for the duration of his trip. He of course asks me if he can keep it in my garage until he can send someone to ship it to him. I tell him of course.
Obv it sits in my garage for 18 months. 47 miles on the odometer. I felt like Cameron in Ferris Buellers Day off.
Finally he ships it to New York lol.
Point being, he may be my richest friend, but I am as loyal and treat him no differently than my poorest friend.

You didn't need to explain but you did and I am more intrigued and grateful.
Sounds like he is a finance guy from NY and likes to blow off steam![]()
Is he single LOL I'm kidding.
No finance. Just someone that likes to start businesses. Some fail some work out. More have worked out than have failed . Timing and luck play a big part.
I am by no means some super baller. But I do well enough to fire off in Vegas and it doesnt effect me. I know it is a losing battle but I enjoy it too much.
No bad lol
How is it you have that info, he posted it?
Update:
Deepstack at 2pm today. I have to leave harrahs in an hour (no comp'd late check out at this joint) so i'll be heading to the rio.
Last night SHENANIGANS were definitely afoot as I met Jack Daniels at the bar downstairs when he was done with his 08 tournament.
No we've all seen his pic from the other thread so there's no point in me posting it, nor did I even take his pic, but this dude is straight from england. Thickest accent ever, and it just got thicker as he and I got drunker.
After deciding we'd do some +EV drinking, by playing video poker for drinks, but betting the absolute minimum so the light would turn on. Now we figured out that if you keep playing, the light takes longer to turn on. (also, if you hit the max bet button it seems to reset, so just hit it once and then keep hitting deal) So, we just printed a ticket, and inserted it into machine. The first bartender at harrahs obvs carded me. he thought I was half my age. Nice.
The second bartender wasn't as cool as the first one, and actually made us play the machines, and he poured Jack Daniels the weakest fucking Jack n Coke i've ever tasted. After hassling' the dude for a moment (not in a bad way, he was being funny about the weak drink) the bartender actually came over with a shot of JD and put it in his drink. I was shocked actually.
After that, we decide it's time to get cigarettes and find another +EV bar to drink at. We make our way to the Linq, and we find this bar in the middle of the joint and we sit down. Same thing, put money in, play minimum bets, get free drink. I start playing, and I get my drink, and JD doesn't even play a hand, just puts money in and somehow gets a drink. We cheers to +EV drinking and head off to find cigarettes at the CVS. That's when we noticed the show was live, and i started to call in. When you heard me I on the strip, tourists everywhere, and a drunk Jack Daniels talking to EVERYONE. It was classic.
Ok. Cigarettes. Check. Jack Daniels. Check.
One of the first things I asked JD when I met him is if he wanted to go shoot pool. And to my surprise, he wanted to shoot, and knew a spot where we could find pool tables. SWEET. We high tail it over to the MGM Grand and go in and sure enough, there's a bar, with pool tables. We get next game, and win (I sunk 8 ball on a cross table cut shot to the back corner pocket) and then we win the next one after that, and finally we find Drexel and we leave the MGM to go to the Palazzo where he is.
Walking down the strip, Jack Daniels is hammered and trying to hail taxi's in one of the worst ways possible, on the curb on las vegas blvd. I'm not even from here, my first time, and i'm telling him "yeah it's probably illegal for them to stop on the street." but he didn't beleive me, so every few minutes he'd stop, and try and hail a cab. When we passed the Paris, we found a cab and that's exactly what he told us: it's illegal for him to stop. he had seen us too. I guess that's karma.
Ventian Hotel is our next location. ONly that's not where drexel is, he's in the pallazo playing.........
S T A D I U M B A C C A R A T
YUP. Just like nearly 24 hours before, Brandon was wit Leapin Larry in the pit, having a blast. Traderrooski was also there. And just like the night before, Leapin Larry is on his system as well as drexel. they are firing off bets.
THEN THIS HAPPENS
Brandon decides he's gonna fire off 1500 on the banker. It goes down like the Hindenburg as the player wins. So.....what does he do? he mutters something like "fuck it" and proceeds to put $3500 on the bank. He gets a ZERO (2 monkeys) and he's up against the players 7. He's got 2 fucking outs for $3500.
He hits it a fucking 8, and we all start cheering as all of us were sweating this one. ONly, I think i might've been the only one who saw the $1500 loss before, and saw him put the $3500 down. Leapin' Larry thought it was less.
Before they cashed out their tickets, they had to somehow get the change off (when you bet on the banker you pay a comission and thus you're left with amounts ending in 90 cents) so after figuring out some sort of mathematical equation (im sure it was just simple math and i was drunk) they each fire off a bet. they win. the amounts go even. and then they printed them. He said it's always bad luck to leave change on the ticket. Sounds good to me.
Ok, that's enough for Drexel, so he cashes out and we go to the high limit cage to cash out and then Drexel asks if we want to play "Pop Dice"
Pop Dice, is only explained as something that belongs in a Dave n Busters, only you gamble on it. There's 2 giant dice in this enclosure and then there's a craps layout on a screen in front of you. Everything is normal craps. When its time to roll, the dice start shaking and then you hit a button (like giant red button im not kidding) and the dice pop up and land on numbers.
Of course, I lose $5.
Jack Daniels however, rolls 6 passes while the entire time Leapin Larry is betting on 10, hoping for a crap out before so he can collect. RIGHT AS HE SAYS "ok one more roll then im just gonna cash this out and eat the money (he was down like $20. and Leapin' Larry sets goals, and he accomplishes them, but this one he wanted to let go) JD rolls a fucking 10 and Leapin goes down in flames.
Exepct Leapin' Larry didn't go down without a fight. He fires off 200 more on 10. and FINALLY JD craps out, and Leapin Larry recoups his money, minus $5.
So....Fast Finger roulette time!!!
I've never seen this before, but apparently all you gotta do is have fast fingers and stop the roulette wheel on your number. and that's what he did! 5 fucking times in a row. in about 10 seconds. Makes his $5 back and we leave.
We parted ways shortly after, as I was tired and had to be up to check out of my room.
Tonight i'll be staying at the rio, since a very nice person (who will remain nameless right now) has said they can probably get me a room there for free.
Ok I gotta pack and jet out of the hotel. Enjoy the sweat today fellas.

Good Morning Larry! Thought you might benefit from my observing my wife in this deepstack that she came in 18th and cashed for $1371. First this is one longass tourney. Final 2 tables reached at 2:30 am and finishes around 4:00 am. She is basically an ABC player with the patience of Jobe (totally opposite of me) but capable of running a massive bluff when situation presents itself. These players will call off with top pair and often less than that. Continuation bets were basically an atm for her as were large overbets on the river. But waiting for premium hands paid off big for her. Her mindset was that she wanted to sit there all nite and only be allin with the nuts. So patience was key. Hope these observations have some value for you. If not, play your game and enjoy your last nite in Vegas. It has been fun railing you thru your first (but not last) Vegas experience. Best regards and OPA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
