What bothers me about this particular casino story would be the plight of the blue collar worker. It is a microcosm of the broken middle class.That's not the point. The Taj Mahal is closed, I gather. So all these employees will drift to another job prolly with less pay or unemployment. That there are too many big casinos was not Trumps fault. Bankruptcy certainly wasn't his end game. Casinos seemed like a good idea back in the day.

I had a flashback to my days at Foxwoods. I was told by one of the employees that there was a dept whose purpose was to tour Asia and Eastern Europe to find employees. They were in a very precarious and prone position when they arrived to live and work in expensive Connecticut.
So now I am chuckling while I think about Trump and his immigration thoughts.
So yeah, the casino abused the employees. The workers, native US and otherwise, brought in the United Auto Workers to represent them. It was the right move IMO.
Trump takes full advantage of bankruptcy laws & loose financial rules. He can buy the judicial system that is for sale. Yeah, mergers, easy bankruptcy laws and other financial engineering hurts workers but Trump didn't write those laws. Don't be so naive as to think the Republicans did exclusively either.
Remind yourself who Hillary's biggest contributors are. Wall Street. Trump has gotten $0 from the Street. They don't like him.
So maybe Trump thinks he can make America great again. Improve the economy so workers can thrive. Of course, he can't. Not really. He represents an ideal is all. We are too far gone down another road.
So if you want to punt and embrace liberal ideals to help our citizens instead, I guess Hillary represents that. But how much can she help someone's life when they work for Walmart? Or OSA as he is on his fifth employer in the course of ten years.
What I find surprisingly simplistic Mumbles is the Trump was a cunning businessman with sketchy results so Hillary is great argument. They both are highly suspect.
I have no answer for the middle class. I think our political system - congress, senate, the whole shooting match - is big business and far too corrupt to help anyone. That the middle class precariat is angry and getting radicalized is encouraging. We need revolution not more of the incumbency.

Personally, the reemergence of unions (like Foxwoods) is probably a more practical and realistic answer than hoping some fucking progress is made through legislation and politics. Walmart workers and all that. If Walmart can't do business paying full time workers a living wage then it's a bad model. Fuck em and let them die.

This is true, but this is the fault of corrupt local governments.
Any city/county government could reject Walmart's presence if they wanted. They have the right to dictate the size of new businesses coming to the area.
Unfortunately, most local governments are corrupt, and bribery is pretty much the norm. There is little oversight or examination of these governments (unlike state and federal governments, where outsiders are watching), so local officials tend to trade favors, contracts, and approvals for cash. Even when the local powers-that-be aren't enriching themselves, they will alternately choose to enrich the city instead, requiring all kinds of high fees and taxes for these large businesses to move in. The city government gets rich, while the small business owners in the town go broke.
This isn't something you can really blame on any political party. You also can't blame Walmart itself, as it's just a business looking out for its own best interests.
The point bigdick is making is the drag on the local economy with respect to lower income jobs.
If WalMart pays a living wage their presence is not an issue for the locals.
