Like just devils advocate here.. what the fuck else were people going to watch tho? There is _nothing_ else on tv on Sundays and there hasnt been for quite a while. Also note that this article is almost 2 weeks old and there hasnt been any developments since.
I've seen a bunch of shows beat the reaper because there was literally nothing to replace them in a mid-season dump. That being said, such a strong showing means that the people that were supposed to tune in and watch this show actually did. 3.3m eyeballs on its own is enough to give this show daughter dating privileges straight out of the gate.
