This is a perfect example of what Chicago is dealing with:

Lakeview Landscaper Robbed Of Leaf Blower, Cops Say

    Name: CORNELIUS%u00252BBREWER.jpeg
Views: 191
Size: 17.1 KB

One man is in custody while another remains at large after a landscaping contractor was robbed of a $900 leaf blower in Lakeview, police said.

    Brewer (Chicago Police Dept)
The 20-year-old landscaper was working in the 3500 block of N. Janssen (North side a few blocks west of Wrigleyville) when he saw a man stealing the leaf blower from his equipment trailer around 2:30PM on Friday(broad daylight....DGAF).

The victim ran to confront the thief and another man who was standing near their get-away car. The thief pushed the landscaper to the ground and then reached into his waistband to indicate that he had a firearm, the victim said. The two men got into their car and drove off.

Minutes later, police alerted to the robbery found the get-away car parked in an alley behind the 3500 block of N. Bosworth. The lone occupant of the car —Cornelius Brewer of the Chicago Lawn neighborhood (Far South Side, about 11 miles from here)—was arrested.

Meanwhile, the thief who allegedly stole the equipment and reached into his waistband remains at large. He is described as black, about 19-years-old, 6-feet tall, with long dreadlocks. He was last seen running in and out of gangways near Addison and Bosworth, according to a witness. (notice they dont even have a name)

Brewer, 20, is charged with aggravated robbery, theft of lost or mislaid property(are you fucking kidding?!!...it wasnt lost or mislaid...nice way to lessen the charges), battery, and pot possession, according to court records.

Police say Brewer told them that he and the other man went to traffic court earlier on Friday and were just driving around town when they wound up in Wrigleyville. (No traffic court anywhere near there...you dont "get lost driving around" and end up that far north)

The landscaper suffered cuts and bruises in the attack, but he refused medical attention.

Officers also recovered a Stihl cement saw from the suspects’ vehicle. The saw is also believed to be stolen.

Apparently: In the last two years, Mr. Brewer has been arrested 12 times (including this bust), mostly for pot possession and "soliciting unlawful business." He actually managed to stay out of trouble for about eight months...before this, he was last arrested in September.

Since you are obviously on the "slow" scale, Larry, this is the result of the policies that are being forced upon the CPD. Bad management, poor judicial system, poor efforts to curb crime, poor efforts to help those in the south/west sides (where you live), misguided efforts that are self-serving, shitty media, and false narratives.

Figure out what its going to take to prevent this type of shit from taking over your cities, before you get the shitshow that Chicago/Baltimore now has. Keep voting in Democratic leadership, with clear objectives that are self-serving, and misguided, and then dont complain when your taxes skyrocket and crime more than doubles.

Note for Larry: You could always avoid reading these, as its obvious you havent the will power nor the intelligence, to resist tilting. Im sure your drug dealer friend could get you something for that though.

    Logically-Challenged SYSOP...

I have taken drugs at festivals. I have used recreationally. (although, I havent done anything in almost a year).

DO YOU SEE ME BITCHING AT ANY POLICEMEN FOR ARRESTING ME FOR MY WRONGDOINGS?

If I do something ILLEGAL, and get caught, I would NOT be calling the cops assholes because I was the dumbfuck who did something I shouldnt have. Thats where this dumbass Larry, Marty, Muck and you, cant seem to understand things, hence my comment before. Its always the guys who got arrested who seem to hate the police. Its your fucking fault that you fail at life. You are just like the gang bangers who want to win the ghetto lottery and bitch when you get shot.

It has NOTHING to do with my doing something illegal. I havent been caught doing anything. I accept responsibilities for my actions, so I wouldnt be bitching at THEM because I did the dumb thing.

Larry bitched to me because he drug-dealing friend got popped by a bunch of cops barging into his place with guns drawn......DID HE DO SOMETHING ILLEGAL?
The guy apparently got it knocked down to a misdemeanor.

If you do Stupid Shit, dont blame anyone but yourself if you get caught. Its not the police's fault that you are stupid.

Get your calendars ready for the Republican convention in Cleveland. They "somehow" didnt order all the equipment they will need for the upcoming convention (sounds like Chicago for the Trump rally).

    "Somehow" (wink). Oopsie...

2 months to go and the police just came out and said that they are woefully unprepared for that event.

you implied in an other thread that only people that hate the police or dislike them is because they're law beakers, simply not the case. not always anyway.

the honor your oath thing is just something these nerd cop block type people yell at the police while they're simply doing their job.

It seems, in this forum, that most of the people who hate the police, are ones who have broken the law. Doesnt mean the same as what you just typed.

I have never heard that honor your oath statement used, outside of this forum. If it is common, its not common as far as I know, in Chicago.

    Hey DRK....check out this idiot:

"Officer from fatal shooting fires into crib
The accidental discharge happened during a probation check

A San Diego police officer who killed a man in a 2015 shooting in the Midway District that is now the subject of a federal civil rights lawsuit accidentally fired his gun into a crib during a probation check this past February.

Officer Neal Browder was with other officers on Bayview Heights Place about 8:40 a.m. on Feb. 20 when the shooting happened, said San Diego police Lt. Scott Wahl. He said police conducted an investigation, but he declined to give more details.

Residents at the apartment, located Friday by U-T Watchdog, described the accidental shooting.

“If my son had been in that crib, he wouldn’t be here today,” said Kimberly Espinoza, 17, who lives in the apartment with her son Isaac, then 11-months-old, her 54-year-old grandmother, and a 30-year-old uncle who was the subject of the routine probation check.

“And if he was in it, and it had missed my son, he would still be traumatized,” she said.

The incident unfolded quickly, the family said.

After the uncle was taken outside the apartment, the rest of the family entered the living room so the bedrooms could be searched by Browder and another officer. Browder and the other officer, guns drawn, entered Espinoza’s bedroom, where the baby’s crib was located.

Suddenly, a shot rang out. According to Espinoza, Browder looked uneasy and nervous and was quickly taken outside while other officers arrived and began investigating.

After several hours, police located the discharged round. The bullet hit the right side of the baby crib, ricocheted left and struck the wall behind it, Espinoza said.

About a week later, another officer returned to collect follow up statements from Espinoza and her family to accompany evidence from the officers’ body cameras, she said. The family asked if the department would help pay for counseling after the event, but never heard back.

    They disposed of the crib.

“We threw it away,” she said. “It was a constant reminder of what had happened, and what could have happened.”

The bedroom wall paint is still chipped and the drywall indented where the bullet hit.

Espinoza said she is angry with the officers, who should have been more cautious when entering a home with young children.

“It’s [Browder’s] fault,” she said. “Why are you going into a house that has a baby with your gun drawn?”

Browder, a 28-year department veteran, fatally shot Fridoon Rawshan Nehad in an alley in Midway District on April 30, 2015. The officer was sent to the area after a bookstore employee reported a man had a knife and was threatening people about midnight.

Browder said he shot Nehad after the 42-year-old man refused to drop what the officer thought was a knife. The officer said he believed Nehad was going to stab him. Nehad had no knife, and instead was carrying a metallic pen.

In November, the San Diego County District Attorney’s Officer ruled the shooting was legally justified because Browder believed he faced an “imminent threat” from Nehad.

Two months after the shooting, relatives of Nehad filed a lawsuit in federal court, alleging the shooting violated Nehad’s civil rights, was unjustified and the department’s investigation of officer-involved shootings were flawed and a “whitewash” designed to exonerate officers.

The Nehad shooting was captured on a the security camera of a neighboring business. Police and prosecutors declined to release the footage for months, until a federal court judge lifted a court order in December and allowed lawyers for the family to release the tape and other materials related to the investigation.

The tape shows Nehad walking up an alley and approaching Browder’s parked car, which did not have its emergency lights on. The man appears to slow, but not stop, just before Browder shoots him.

Wahl said Browder was evaluated by a police psychologist during a Critical Incident Stress Debriefing after the fatal shooting, and returned to duty.

Louis “Skip” Miller, the lawyer for the Nehad family, said the February incident was troubling.

“It tells me this is a police officer who shouldn’t be trusted with a weapon,” Miller said. “He should have a desk job.”

Miller said the second shooting would “absolutely” be raised in the pending civil case.
    "

eta --- just a ridiculous amount of fail on so many levels. if that's what a "28 year veteran" does, remind me to run if i'm ever approached by a rookie san diego cop.

well, thats a tough situation to decipher. Not enough info to go on, but it sounds like he accidentally discharged his weapon, which, depending on the model gun, should be hard to do. No clue why he shot into the crib. Its too complicated to give an easy answer without all the info. Put the guy on desk duty and investigate.

her comment that he shouldnt have a gun drawn because there is a baby in the house is irrelevant. She just wants to bitch. I cant really comment on this case as I dont know anything. its all speculative.

Also, Sysop, you lost your speculation...loser.

probably thought he saw a gun in the crib and he was just trying to shoot the gun out of the crib to eliminate the threat

Dude....it's not complicated. The cop is an idiot who shot a crib (accidentally or not he shot a friggin crib). Why the fuck were two cops barging around, guns drawn, a family's home during a friggin "routine" probation check when they already had detained the guy they were "checking" (and the family that was minding it's own business). It's not complicated, it's effin insane.

And don't get me started on him shooting the guy who was armed with a pen who made the mistake of slowing approaching his darkened police car. Turn your friggin lights on you tard, identify yourself as a cop and tell him to drop what he's holding. And if your scared of the pen, roll up your friggin drivers side window. Don't just start blasting away.

No, its not that easy. There could be many reasons why he shot the gun.

If there were no people in the room, and no reason for him to be startled or threatened, the guy is dangerous on should be pulled off the streets and assessed to see if he needs more training, or possibly fired.

I dont have the facts, so I dont guess.

was he there doing a check on a person with a violent pass, who is likely armed. Was there a recent domestic dispute at the residence?

did someone jump out at him, or startle him?

What is the history of the guy at the house? Cop was there for what specific reasons? Just a probation check?

My point is, there are lots of variables that come into play, and all I have is a quick article, and the writer is highly unlikely to have all the facts.

    Rum Dick,

When you combine the first scenario with the 2nd scenario, its looking more like the guy needs a lot more training and shouldnt be on the street.

What happened though in the 2nd situation? Did the guy have prior weapons history, or history of violence, resisting arrest, prior felonies? Did the metallic pen look like a weapon? Was he told to drop the weapon? How many times? Did he comply? Was he in an agitated state?

Its not easy from an article, and to top it off, they are interviewing people who are biased toward one side.

Miller said the second shooting would “absolutely” be raised in the pending civil case.

eta --- just a ridiculous amount of fail on so many levels. if that's what a "28 year veteran" does, remind me to run if i'm ever approached by a rookie san diego cop.
First let me preface this saying I have family who have either been LEO or still are. Seems to me this officer in question has a major issue walking around with his safety off and finger on the trigger.. That's a violation of gun safety 101 LEO or not. There are some bad apples and there are some dummies who shouldn't have a badge and a gun.. Problem is that stupid shit like this makes all cops look bad. Its like my dad used to say it takes 20 positive things to cancel out a single stupid act because as human beings we sadly focus more on the negative then the positive.. Then again what can we expect the news media lives by the motto "if it bleeds it leads".

What happened though in the 2nd situation? Did the guy have prior weapons history, or history of violence, resisting arrest, prior felonies? Did the metallic pen look like a weapon? Was he told to drop the weapon? How many times? Did he comply? Was he in an agitated state?

Its not easy from an article, and to top it off, they are interviewing people who are biased toward one side.

jesus christ on a fucking cross. is this really a thread? started by some jamoke who doesn't even live in the city. Report on Oak Park crime, because there is plenty.

or just keep being a cock sucking police apologist. Oh and tell your brother to eat a big black dick.

and also, do yourself a favor, no do the world a favor, and buy a gun, buy a bullet, load the gun, put it in your mouth and pull the trigger. Because that's the only way you're going to solve your problem

or just keep typing and typing and typing.
