I need to gift a nice bottle of wine to an attorney - Need some suggestions

I'll tell the story of why I needed a lawyer some other time, but right now Im looking for some suggestions.

I would like to get him a nice bottle of wine (or something in that order), but I have no clue as to what he would like and what I should gift. Im not a wine connoisseur, and I certainly don't want to get him something he wouldn't care for (unless maybe everyone thinks I shouldn't worry about that so much)

Not that this is really important here, a quick backstory: He is the owner of the firm. A while ago, one of his employees took my case. This case was supposed to be all said and done (or so everyone thought) and she since left the firm. So, when we found out there was going to be a little more work, he just took care of it for me, and he didn't charge me anything else.
So basically, I would like to make a kind gesture thanking him.

So, any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

How much are you looking to spend? "Educated guess" is a decent wine and it costs around $30. It has a cool looking bottle that looks snazzy on an office bookshelf. I've given it to some of my atty friends before and thhey all liked it.

My lawyer wife says a bottle of blue label or if he's a family man a bottle of wine would be great.

People that like wine probably cringe at the idea of getting a bottle from a neophyte. You are better off with quality liquor.

You say you have no idea what he likes but we're supposed to pick something for you? Doesn't really make sense.

If you decide on a "Red" DO NOT get a strong/harsh variety like a Shiraz/Syrah but go with a smoother blend like a Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot & go with a "dry", preferably a 0 on the sweetness scale. If you decide to get a Red & get it with a "screw top" bottle please just kill yourself now.

If you decide on a "White" go with a Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc. I prefer oaked because it gives the Chardonnay more of a smooth buttery taste but most unoaked ones are good too. Most/almost all whites have screw top bottles so no need to off yourself if that's all you can find.

I mean if you want a rundown on some wines, check out Gary V on Wine Library TV. There's like 1000 episodes so you can basically punch in a wine, wine type or maybe even region and get a comparison review right off of Youtube.

For a lawyer a trunk full of roadkill would be more appropriate. Damn Vulchers.
