Well my read on jones was right but my read on osp was fucking terrible, i was really gonna bet Cormier till he pulled out
Fucking terrible, osp looked ridiculous, GG me
OSP had 3 weeks to camp up for this fight, he did fine. And considering the line, money on him made sense.
Jones looked simply fucking terrible, but hes just in a different league.
Rumble would have given us what we wanted, easily.

A few guys could have beaten Jon Jones on this particular night.
What a snoozer that was.
OSP looked like the only black man that can't dance.
I did go 9-3 on my picks but feel somehow unsatisfied with this card.

So.... Is he back fighting Diaz as he was scheduled?? My guess is YES because Diaz wanted him too.. Although it looking more like it would be a co-main event now with Cormier Vs Jones being the Main Event to unify the LHW title.
I hope McGregor gets his shit pushed in by Diaz again just for his antics.
You can train hard but a lot of times that don't even matter versus a bigger fighter due to their body structure caring the weight properly and skill set. You have to realize the man you are facing is training to combat changes you might bring at them the second time around.
The problem with Diaz is how motivated will he be to win a second fight in a row vs. McGregor?
The first win was a huge payday that leads to an even bigger second fight payday but that might be enough for him like it has been in the past just showing up for certain fights versus big names.

Jones just had to get out of that fight 100% and win too of course which is why Dana couldn't say what the other title fight was last week in the press conference until Jones fought.
The UFC knows how huge this card is already going to be and it will exceed all PPV and Gate numbers in company history that their was no way they were going to let McGregor's arrogant ass get his way this time.
Conor should have checked himself before he wrecked himself if he wanted to fight on the UFC 200 card but no worries cause the next McGregor/Diaz rematch will be still be a huge draw whenever it happens.
Huge stretch right now to assume this will be the biggest ppv ever for the ufc. Numbers don't get buys, fighters like conor, Ronda, gsp, and Brock do, and to quote tony kornheiser, that's it. That's the list. If you think this ppv will even sniff the UFC 100 number without even one of those fighters, you are highly delusional. Highly.

We will see in a few months time but you might be right on not topping UFC 100 since that card was so stacked. I can't even remember how many fights were on just the PPV alone but it had more then your average ppv.
The Jones/Cormier rematch is a heavily hyped up fight due to the bad blood they have with one another. Of course fighters are what matters but this card is still stacked and should do very well.
It's still possible though not likely that they can add something like GSP vs. Diaz to this card.
They are throwing a lot of money into promoting this card doing the Thursday and Friday cards right before to get people hyped up. It will be a huge card but yeah I could see it not passing UFC 100, however, many of the top buy rate cards are in the 1 to 1.1 million range and it could clear that for #2.
The gate will be huge too since I'm sure them tickets will be at the highest rate ever with the event being in the new MGM Arena in Las Vegas.
True on the injury bug since that could really screw some things but but the card isn't exactly official yet either.
With the money they are throwing into it I just don't see 200 not drawing big numbers. Of course they would be better with Conor but I think if people can stay healthy (the ones in the main fights) and maybe they add another key fight or two then the card could still be huge.
Another way to look at it is from a business stand point if they are able to draw say 1.2 mil then McGregor fights on 201 or 202 that would probably make the company more money over the few ppv span then having nothing to fall back on for the following couple of ppvs.

Is Jones really even a draw at this point? The last fighter he stopped was fucking Chael Sonnen. And Cormier seriously looked like hes walking around at like 255 these days. All this fight does is help Jones knock the ring rust off before he faces Rumble.

Conor is a great promoter so he sells the fights better then anyone including those versus a lot of the scrubs he fought along the way. Up until Conor fought Aldo all of these other guys were mostly a joke so he wasn't really challenged and of course that Aldo fight ended in such a fluke way we still didn't get to see him fight anyone.
The UFC did well milking all they could from him fighting bums but now they can't do that anymore. I have very little interest in seeing him fight Diaz again because it is too soon imo but next year would be cool. That is the MMA fan in me saying that and it will be a hyped up fight but from a betting aspect you probably can't wait til he fights again to load up on his opponent.
I wish that fight with Dos Anjos happened because I would have felt better about dropping a nice bet on Dos Anjos then I did for Diaz but that's just me.
