It seriously is a TV show where I have spent the most time fast forwarding through dialogue scenes and not felt like I missed anything important. I watched last night in just under 30 minutes.

Same; no matter how much I fast forward, I have never once been like "WHOA WAIT WHAT DID I MISS HOW DID THIS HAPPEN"

4 more episodes left this season.

    Where's Negan?

How long are they going to dick tease us with Negan?

I guess he will show up in the last episode and say "I'm Negan" and brutally kill a regular cast member.

I guess were at the halfway point of this entire series.

In another 6 years, the actor who plays Rick Grimes will be begging to be killed off.

ok we all know today is the seasons last show, we also know that someone has got to go probably in a real horrible way.

maybe more than one too but at least one main character.... my money is on Daryl but i think there is a good chance that Rosita will be up at bat as she is captured as well

there is no way that rick or carl will go, some shit gonna go down tonight.

Show has hit a new low in terrible-ness.

Only saving grace is that they seem to have over achieved in casting Negan(imo), but holy shit that was truly awful.

It's like they weighed all the options of how to properly handle the single most important moment in the entire series and picked the worst possible one.

One of the writers/producers said it was a "beloved" character.

It's going to be either Glenn or Daryl.

Steven Yeun (Glenn) only had a contract that ends in season 6.

Norman Reedus (Daryl) can make more money doing movies and wouldn't mind being killed off.

I wish this show had the balls to kill off Rick.

So yeah in the comics its

    Glenn
but honestly who the fuck knows/cares at this point.

Try this on for size; they left it open ended because they havent even decided who to kill yet.

Not too many characters would be saying "Maggie..." after getting the front of their head knocked off.

At this point they should have 1-2 more seasons and call it a day before the bedshitting gets even worse.

Honestly they just need a whole new team of writers. I havent actually read the comics but apparently there are these tangents it goes off on that are.. frankly.. kind of amazing. Eg Michonne? Yeah that bitch becomes a pirate. No seriously; bitch gets a boat and a crew and becomes a fucking pirate.

So there is a lot to work with in the source material. But because they have just awful writers, they end up constantly boxed in instead of expanding into new themes.

Dont forget; they were promising a 'hard left turn' from the comics with the Negan scene and apparently that was a balls out lie. Nothing about that was a hard turn in any direction, it was a note for note recreation of the comic scene. Whats worse, providing all the evidence at bar is true and Glenn did get beaten to death, it makes the fake-out bullshit earlier this season even more offensive and retarded.

Thats... bad writing. Like text book.

Also try this on; apparently season 7 is going to be 'The Story of Negan' which means we might end up spending the end of 2016 watching Negan play with this kids and dog in the suburbs before the outbreak and not even get to the death speech scene until early 2017.

And not necessarily because the show writers are simply hacks, its possible that they will spend the next several months desperately trying to figure out which character Negan DOES beat to death because honestly? I dont think they have even decided yet. Because they are bad at their jobs.

doubt any of this remotely counts as spoilers, but there is almost no negan backstory in the comic. so, hopefully you'll be spared the dog walking scenes. there's plenty of fictional universe present day negan related material as well as various new characters to fill out a season without having to use stupid flashbacks.

i'm betting the tv writers will fuck it up with negan like they did the governor (he was so much better in the comics, including seeming like a legit threat to rick and the rickettes), but in the off chance they don't, then youre in for a treat because Negan's character is GOD in the comics (and they did do an excellent job of casting the actor who plays negan....like totally nailed it so fingers crossed).

gotta say as someone who has read each issue of the comic, it's kinda weird dropping in on the show every once in awhile. unlike game of thrones where the readers are now in the dark as much as the viewers, the WD comic readers are like 5 years ahead of the tv show viewers. so much has happened since the Negan/Saviors story line it's just crazy.

yeah i just read an interesting interview with JD Morgan where he says that Negan develops this super weird bro on bro respectmance with Carl. which is actually insanely interesting and weird and potentially delightful.

also, as you pointed out, Morgan also claims the show is picking up exactly where it left off but really, those fucking writers... who knows how they are going to fuck this up next.

    It's Glenn who got whacked.

Judging by the placement of the trees and the fact that Glenn is the only character that Robert Kirkman doesn't reget killing off in the comic book.

Of course, the writers could change their minds once they begin filming later this month in Georgia.

The Walking Dead has shit the bed.
This show has become so fucking ridiculous.
The writers are not concerned with creating believable storylines or developing the characters who they really don't give a shit about anymore.
They are just interested in creating outrageous, crazy things happen that make no sense.

The only reason to watch The Walking Dead now is for Negan.
After cracking Glenn's skull, hopefully he'll use his bat on Rick and Carl next.
