Anyone play poker in a "Social Club" ?

I play in a bi-weekly "big game" with some biggest fish in the whole world, including a very famous country western star's manager. While I appreciate all your wonderful words of wisdom about "the current state of poker" it has nothing to do with this thread.

You wanted opinions of Poker Clubs. I probably play poker more than anyone on this forum. I've seen similar things start and fail miserably. I know exactly how it will go down at this Alamo Poker Club. I couldn't be more on topic. No alcohol, time limits, slowness, gayness, with the worst kicker in the deck being that you just haven't quite comprehended what sort of dealers would actually think this is a good gig. I'm just trying to save you some time.

Ask George Strait's manager and the rest of the boys at that game what they think this will turn out looking like. I bet they say the same as me. If you are invited to something like that then this shit show should not even be on your radar.

I happen to agree with you on most of this. I would rather clean up puke than play 1-2 NL in pretty much any room in this country. I happen to like an occasional small field freezeout.
