if i were a big wig with the GOP or the Dems I'd be pushing hard to get rid of "open primaries" next go around. it makes zero sense to let republicans vote in democratic party primaries and vice versa. a lot of sanders and trump's biggest wins seem to be in the open primaries. danger of it is you could get stuck with a nominee that the majority of the party does not want and did not vote for ala trump (no offense to trump supporters but a ton of his primary voters appear to be independents and dems). i don't even understand why they opened up the primaries at all. youre just risking ceding control to voters who aren't in your party. seems idiotic.

Unless you are the underdog party that is looking to attract voters from the other side or independents. PS i'm not being hypothetical here.

The fun part is when you have the one candidate that is attracting cross party voters and independents being criticized by the one lilly white door knob (Romney) that couldn't attract anyone from either.

Rush Limbaugh instructs his viewers to do exactly that, he called it operation chaos. In the 08 election he instructed his viewers to vote for Hillary since she has a better chance at losing than Obama. Republicans are trash like that, what else is new. In2016 he wants his listeners to vote for Bernie.
All Republicans need to vote for Bernie!

hey Abrown, what is your breakdown on what happened with Hillary vs Bern in Michigan? I mean I couldn't find a Hillary voter here so I sort of suspected that it would be an upset, but from your statistical pov, wtf happened?

Read something she only campaigned in Detroit and Flint.

I think the big statical key was as many 18-29 voters turned out as 65+ voters. That never happens, guessing that means old people stayed home and didn't vote for Hillary.

I was out and about on voting day, the traffic was nuts and the lines at every polling station I passed was nothing like I had ever seen in my lifetime. Certainly not for a primary.

The graph at 1:30 is what's wrong.

I respectfully ask all PFA members to do one of two things.
Vote for Bernie Sanders or don't vote at all. The crowds and long lines, it's not worth it unless it's for Bernie.
    Have a great day.

The most powerful Bernie video to date. This one'll get you fired up.

Independent voters cannot vote in most primaries and caucuses.
However, it's very easy to change from democrat, republican or independent.

They should only have primaries and get rid of caucuses.
It is fucking stupid to go to a high school, in the afternoon or evening, be locked in a room for a couple of hours, in order to cast your vote.

You can't keep posting Bernie videos and call them all "epic", or we can pretty much assume that none of them are.

The old private houses cared about their reputation. It was the owners name on the door kinda thing. They might pass on a piece of business if it hurt their image. Now with the public houses it's all about incentivized quarterly profit - anyway & anyhow.

Yeah, they fucked up. But we gave them all a bonus and a free reload.

Fortunately, they still give us valuable analyst calls at no extra charge. Fleecing the public. Take 'em down Bernie.

KASICH TOWN HALL - TRIP REPORT

Went to the Kasich town hall today, in Palatine IL (right by my condo). Parking was shit. Doors opened at 12:30, start time was 1:30. I got there around 12:35, but had to park about 5 blocks away because it was held at a small jr high, with the Cops not letting people park nearby unless they made it into the small lots. Even though the streets were labeled as if safe to park, cops were telling you, NO. Park somewhere else. Not the best scenario to have a bunch of your crowd, who are over 50, walk a long way to get inside.

Old basketball gym. About 10 cops outside, along with satellite trucks. Maybe 3 cops inside. Probably a few Secret Service guys with Kasich. About 300 "seats" for people, with a stool in the center of the floor for Kasich's water bottles, and some folding chairs and bench seating for the elderly. Standing room on floor. There were about 100 or so down there standing, with some being the media. Some hot broads working the media area too, let me tell you. Sadly, the had speakers set up for the crowd, but the dum-dums had them on the floor, pointing at the center of the floor, when over 50% of the crowd was up above on a balcony. They didnt adjust the sound, so we could hear things better, until about 20 min in. There were about 20 camera crews in attendance, 15 people working from laptops (they appeared to be constantly checking social media pages) and I saw 4 black folk. Its a pretty middle-class, white area, so this doesnt surprise me, and 3 of them were in the media, with the 1 likely secret service.

Up above, there was a running track, and I got a corner spot up there. By the time things started, there were probably around 1700-2000 people in the place.

Kasich is a pretty humble, straight forward guy. He spent the first part of the town hall discussing his upbringing and family.

some of the topics he covered were:

Need to fix schools, assist teachers, create more jobs, prevent kids/people from getting addicted to drugs

Very pro green energy. Wind turbines, Solar, Geo-thermal power. The future of batteries. Get these accomplished without overly complicated and too heavy, regulation.

Help educate police further on how to deal with people with mental disorders. (I already know they DO get trained, but this is an extremely complicated area to try to solve easily. Further training is always welcomed though)

No one should lose insurance coverage due to pre-existing conditions

He spoke about something they were doing in OH when it came to having much higher transparency with doctors and hospitals, so the patients can become very educated on the quality of care they are receiving.

He said, "I refuse to get 'down in the mud' to be elected President of the United States", and that got the largest ovation of the day.

He had some issues on illegal immigrants (undocumented citizens, for my man, Gallo) but I couldnt hear them so well, but he mentioned something about them having to pay fines for doing illegal activities, and once you come across the border, you are to be sent back to the country you came from, if you came illegally. He supports work visas.

he was VERY much against human trafficking. Mentioned it twice.

We need to improve our quality of skilled workers. Training, junior colleges, etc.

We need to have more vision. Everything seems to be changing and improving....except the government. Focus on Technology.

Stop waiting for the government to fix your problems! Fix them yourself.

He spoke of our IL governor, Rauner, and the compromises he has made, but the legislature (democrats) will not work with him and everything just gets ignored. He stressed putting pressure on legislature to start working with him.

He was for a Reagan-like flat tax plan, but to also, make it simpler.

There are videos out there on this, but his final question was by a Bernie Sanders impersonator, who came down on the floor and spoke to the crowd for 30 seconds. Kind of cheesy. I hope it wasnt a set up.

Lasted about 90 minutes. He was sincere and didnt come across at all like a carnival barker or bullshitter. He didnt ramble and was pretty straightforward. I wish he had more of a chance, but would probably make a really good VP.
