if you think nate's going into this fight knowing he is already beaten, you are crazy. Nate doesn't even believe he is beaten after he is actually beaten, nevermind before.

I am in awe of Conor McGregor. He is the best 145 and probably 155 that ever lived, and lb4lb greatest striker. Nobody else on Earth combines the feet of a bantam, wingspan of a welter and knockout rate of a heavy.

This fight brings several serious challenges.

There is a reason that fighters are separated by weight---and it isn't to protect the bigger guy. This fight is 25 pounds, two entire weight classes, above the heaviest Conor has fought in the UFC. Nate stands 4" taller on a similar frame and is just simply the larger man. Which leads to...

Conor dominates at his weight class with a genetically freakish reach advantage, allowing him to control distance and inflict damage with an unpredictable mix of strikes while keeping himself beyond danger. Diaz is the first man against whom Conor does not have this luxury. Conor may effectively compensate with vastly superior movement but Diaz is a supremely talented MMA boxer who knows every angle. Which leads to...

Nobody gameplans and executes better than the Diaz boys. They may not always win but they consistently put themselves in the best spot to do so, often despite huge mismatches in raw talent. Nate should have a considerable edge in the clinch or grappling. Conor is so elusive it won't be easy for Nate to get his hands on him, but remember the Irishman is the one who needs to close distance. Nate can exploit this with some well-timed takedowns, something which Conor has never shown great skill at defending. If you're not punching the other man in the face, takedowns and top control are the most effective means of telling the three ringside retards that you're winning. And finally...

Both men have shown elite chin and heart so a grueling battle to decision seems likely. Until proven otherwise, it's always a question mark whether a man has 25 minutes of cardio in him. It certainly seems like Conor McGregor has the lungs, but it's absolutely certain that competitive triathlete Nate Diaz does. If this were UFC 3 he'd probably go 125 minutes and still be peppering that mouthy cunt with jabs.

    Just spitballing here. Criticism welcome.

Prime Silva was a better striker, so forget p4p.

The FW weightclass is shallow. Sorry but honestly. Mendes fucking styled on Conor for a round and Mendes had been wolfing burgers and watching cable tv semi competitively 2 weeks before he got in the ring.

Im glad Conor inspires you. He's a good fighter. Certainly ahead of the curve at FW. But the problem with your chart is that it takes mean averages, so people like Aldo, you end up taking into consideration the yawnpocolypses that were his fights leading up to Conor harvesting his soul.

Conor vs Edgar, thats an acid test.

Conor vs RDA would have been an acid test.

Conor vs Nate? I mean... it is interesting because a 145 lb body gets carried on the frame differently than a 175 lb body. How well is his kinesiology going to scale? Also we get to find out if Conor's going to be able to deal with a 175lb man. Can he trip a 175lb man? Can he hip escape? Can he maintain an active top guard without getting caught? None of these are forgone conclusions. But an acid test it is not; unless he puts in a poor showing of course.

Lastly, the reason so few fighters change weight classes is; its destructive. Like, really destructive. Once you move up, you basically start to lose your twitch time. There was a spirited convo about it when Silva fought at 205; its a one way ticket, generally. Is Conor somehow magically immune to that? If he is, perhaps he is as good as your faith implies.

But I think he's biting off a lot more than he can chew.

That's an argumentative tone but you're mostly agreeing with my points.

I would be so giddy if Diaz wins but its most likely KO in late 2nd early 3rd by Conor.

Considering that many people say Conor walks around at like 170-175 even during camp, prior to cutting, I dont see how anyone thinks this is a problem at all? I mean essentially Conor can get to whatever weight he feels is ideal, without maxing himself out at all. Diaz is still cutting and pushing himself so he would in theory be more drained that Conor.

McGregor anywhere around -300 would be grand fucking theft

ftpjesus: 1000% agree.. Now his size would be an issue Im afraid above WW based on the size of guys who are top contenders at 185+ Im afraid but hes a threat at 170 I believe. and something tells me RDA pulled a Aldo to hope to dodge him
It's hilarious that we as a society think everyone can be a dr, a lawyer, an engineer. Some people are just fucking stupid. Why can't we just accept that?

Does UFC have a "grand" package where you get the fight pass and all the PPV events?

Id be legit curious what this would sell for but I feel like they would never discount the PPVs, so it could easily be like 1000+ a year. And given how shite most PPVs are, I mean...

I'd rather pay $500 with the PPV than $100 for the regular fight pass...... I'm sure I'm not the only one is why I ask.

I shipped them the $9.99 so I can watch this.

Shout out to the UKIP skins they manage to find in the audience after Pickett's win.
