David Baazov is going to take Amaya private for a 40% premium over the current stock price.

Assuming this will ease regulation issues in gray markets.

This ain't over. No formal offer. If this is real there will eventually be multiple suitors.

Simp & I bought @ $30'ish a while back. We got kicked in the nuts and bailed. There are many holders that are stuck at this level and aren't gonna be happy.

The Canadian SEC is still on the scene too.

Baasov is crafty. I put nothing past him. Tanking his own stock with lousy forecasts? Within his range.

If his mugshot hit the news wires I would never have been shocked. He's an angle shooter for sure.

Kicking the shorts in the nuts and setting a floor for trading? Absolutely possible.

This will take months to play out. I am holding my shares and will trade around this.

Thing has traded really thin in US and Baasov just juiced the volume. Baasov, champ or a crook or both?

    Definitely an interesting move.

Didn't jump back in Amaya at the low point. Am slowly dipping back into Oil/Energy/Mining related companies hoping I can retire early when it rebounds over time.

That or I'll be working until I'm 80.

Took me all day to pick up on this. Ain't that an interesting thought.

Regulation and taxes are a bitch, right Xfactor?

Does PokerStars do Bitcoin? I mean talk about playing on the edges.

    Another layer of the onion.

    Going rogue. Love it.

As a trader there are so many conflicting elements to PStars. It's controversial. Nothing's ever clear. This makes for an ebb and flow in opinions and hope. A great story to discuss and great juice up & down.

So here is one of the suitors, Playtech, expressing interest.

This is just noise so far. Good noise.

Amaya up 6% today on this news. Currently $14'ish US.

Someday the market is gonna give a shit about this stock.

Boy, can PokerStars replicate the enormous success of PartyPoker in NJ?

This is classic buy the news and sell the event.

The only things written will be reports of an underwhelming debut.

I wouldn't short them cause Baasov could still smash us with some kinda sale but I will be dumping my shares.

    $14.42 now and acting ok.

Continued good luck on ACR BnP.

Fucking Amaya. They can't just run a good clean game.

Amaya took a haircut today. I was looking at them punching through $15 yesterday and now this.

Been working this dog today as traders tried to work out the typical AYA panic.

Amaya announced they are gonna release earnings March 14th. They are NOT going to release any forward guidance out of consideration for the potential Baazov bid to go private. Traders got spooked.

Lol, Baasov can't/won't speculate about his own company's prospects.

They set up an independent audit committee to keep an eye on the angle-shooter Baasov.

I don't see this line of thinking out there yet:
    * Amaya had til end of March to release earnings. They are a tad early.
    * PStars looking to go live in NJ March 21. Getting out front of this fiasco.

Does Baasov announce his bid intentions before NJ - might this potentially queer the deal in NJ? Does NJ approval get jeopardized or some red flag get thrown up? Random thought.

I grabbed another 1000 at $14.25. Amaya guided lower previously. If they miss again then I lose. But they got smacked when they went lower guidance - they set the bar pretty low. Baasov wouldn't mind smashing the numbers and getting another bidder. He's slow playing?

Some really cool 2nd & 3rd level shit and I am just playing the immediate AYA panic.

Gonna be a fun 2 weeks

Wouldn't touch this mess with two bargepoles tied together. If you can make a quick buck on the volatility, fair enough, but I just can't see any upside in the next 6 months.

Interesting. PStars success has to do with the full offering. Sports betting is key. Wish I lived in a free country like England.

Amaya - Data Points To Impressive Start For BetStars

Amaya (NASDAQ:AYA), parent company to the world's biggest pokersite, Pokerstars, will announce its FY 2015 results on March 14th. Already in early January, the company had stated that revenues, adjusted EBITDA, pro forma adjusted net earnings and pro forma adjusted net earnings per diluted share are expected to each fall within the upper end of the previously announced guidance ranges, and the adjusted net leverage ratio to fall within the lower end of the previously announced guidance range.

While 2015 appears to have finished on a positive note for Amaya, and 2016 has started even better. Amongst the positive things to report are a looming bid by a group around CEO Baazov, the upcoming launch of PokerStars in New Jersey and the success of the recently launched sports book under the BetStars brand.

In late December 2015, Amaya announced that its PokerStars brand has officially launched the new BetStars sports betting product. BetStars' technology is supplied by UK software outfit Amelco, whose other clients include Betfair, William Hill and Mybet.

Analyzing website traffic data from SimilarWeb, we note that the growth is nothing short of impressive. Over the weekend, fresh data for the month of February has become available, and as you can see in the charts below, traffic growth, especially on the important .uk domain, has even accelerated during the last month:

Due to the expected bid by CEO Baazov, Amaya will not give any guidance for 2016 in connection with its FY 2015 report. Nevertheless, we expect positive comments about the BetStars launch to emerge, for e.g., during the conference call.

The company posted revenues of over $389 million for the fourth quarter of 2015 and adjusted net earnings per diluted share of 53 cents. The company managed to pay off a significant chunk of their debt in 2015, as their total long-term debt total fell from $3.156 billion to $2.587 billion. According to Amaya, the company is expecting to pay $173 million in interest and debt principal payments in 2016.

Aggregate customer registrations increased by 1.99 million to 99 million by the end of the fourth quarter. According to Amaya, registrations now exceed 100 million.

Amaya PStars popped pretty good today.

Baasov announced he has taken a leave of absence and an interim CEO has been named.

"Mr. Baazov has recently advised Amaya that he continues to intend to make an offer to acquire the company," Amaya stated on Tuesday. Although the company confirmed that, to date, it has "not received an offer from Mr. Baazov," the Special Committee established in February to to consider the proposal "instructed Barclays Capital Canada Inc., to begin contacting other parties who might be interested in a transaction involving Amaya."
You would think nobody would want to touch this sordid mess but a deal is still a deal. There is no room for conscience in poker or business.

    The game is the game.

That's the true value of the company.

    -$2.5 Billion.

CEO David Baazov needs to go to prison.

Canada needs to force the sale of PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker to a more reputable company.

Daniel Negreanu needs to change his alias from "KidPoker" to "Poker Ho".
