So since I know shit about the product I will give you the strategy.

Look at the retailers you know sell the product you are interested in and then save the ad and show to Amazon to price match you never leave your house.

Parrot wireless headphones I hear are great but in the 300 dollar range

Typical brand snobbery and stupidity. The current reviews will actually go with the Samsung U7000 series over the Sony base XBR model in the 4k market, but I have seen them both and for the money I would buy a Sharp instead. The Sharp UH30 series has a better picture than both of the others assuming that you are unable to drop $4500 for an XBR950 series Sony.
My mother has this silver 55 inch Samsung at her house in Newport Beach. It has the best picture I have ever seen. I don't know why. Maybe it's the cable or the lighting. I have a larger Samsung at my house (different model) and the picture is not as good, but I am happy with it.

I got my last iPad from B&H Photo and Video (based out of New York) during Black Friday / Cyber Monday.

You also don't pay sales tax if you're outside of NY state, which is another plus on an expensive purchase like that.
If your residence is in California, you probably owe "use tax".

Still debating on bigger purchases but I placed an order for something small.

Since I print maybe 40 to 50 pages a year I get the throw away printers cause the ink is too expensive. I don't give a shit as long as the printer does what it's supposed to and print where it's clear enough for anyone to see then that is really all that matters to me.

So I ordered one of these for $19. The only downfall is having to walk in my local Walmart in a few weeks to pick it up when it arrives.

Your mom won't let you put a 40 inch in her kitchen lavish. Might as well do something nice and gift it to a peasant.

anyone trying to take advantage of Black Friday specials on Michigan ave in Chicago, which is a mile long stretch of high end and mid range stores (Macy's, Louis Vitton, Target, Gucci, etc) is now being prevented from entering ANY of the stores, as protesters have locked hands and are physically not allowing shoppers to enter any stores.

This is a law that has been on the California state books since 1935, and is absolutely NEVER enforced for individuals. In fact, California has no way to even detect that you've made an out-of-state purchase.

If it ever would be enforced, it would be against large businesses making business-related purchases from out-of-state merchants.

Furthermore, California is so aware that individuals don't pay use tax that rather than attempting to start enforcing it, they instead pressure out-of-state merchants making heavy sales to CA residents to simply charge sales tax. This occurred with Amazon, who used to not charge tax for CA residents, and now does. Interestingly, you can still buy items through Amazon and not pay sales tax as long as you're doing it through a third-party merchant selling on Amazon (and they have no presence in your state).

Here's a little LOL cheap Jew story related to buying hats for Donkdown back when I was involved.

There were three rounds of hats bought on Donkdown. The first batch were trucker hats, bought by the owners (myself included) and given away for free. The second batch were hats bought by Hero Poker (our sponsor), and given away for free. The third batch were bought by Micon (after I left) and sold for like $28 each (I doubt there were many takers).

So the original batch of hats -- the trucker ones -- caused a controversy.

The controversy had to do with sales tax. Reggiman (then an owner of Donkdown) arranged for some Florida merchant he loosely knew to make the Donkdown trucker hats. Reggi then sent us the bill for our info (he was handling the finances for the site), and I was surprised to see that we were paying Florida sales tax. The hats were being shipped to Nevada, and the hat maker had no presence outside of Florida. It is actually illegal for a state to charge its own tax to out-of-state residents for mail order purchases. They must either charge no tax or the tax of the state where the person lives (and then send in the tax proceeds to that state!)

I assumed that this Florida hat maker had never made an out of state sale before (they were a small operation dealing with locals), so I didn't think they were trying to cheat us. I figured they just didn't know the sales tax law. It was a matter of about $40.

I brought this up to Reggiman and, while he felt I was right, said that he was "embarrassed" to bring it up for a matter of $40, and we should just eat the $40.

LAKingsfan, another owner, actually said I was wrong, and that the owner was simply charging us use tax. We got in an argument about this, and finally I proved I was right because 1) The merchant isn't supposed to be the one charging use tax and 2) The tax rate would be wrong for Nevada even if he were doing so. Still, LAKingsfan was in the camp that we shouldn't ask for the $40 back.

Micon was on my side, but didn't feel strongly about it enough to argue about it.

After a lot of drama back and forth, Reggiman reluctantly e-mailed the hat maker about it (with a polite request to look into it, which was my idea in the first place), who then immediately admitted he made a mistake and took off the $40 (and in fact apologized to us). So much ado over nothing.

I am just too Jewish to ever pay $40 in tax that I shouldn't have to pay.

The second batch of hats (the Hero Poker bought ones) also caused drama, near the very end of my run on Donkdown in 2011. We had quickly run out of the hats, and had to turn down some users who had requested them.

In the summer of 2011, I was shocked to see that Micon was selling one (brand new) for $8 on eBay. I told him that we had bought those to give away to the users, and that he had told me he was out of them. I said, "If you have one more to give away, then just give it to one of our users -- don't sell it for $8 on eBay!"

He thought I was "making a huge deal over $8" and didn't understand the point that I was trying to raise, no matter how much I repeated that it made us look like assholes after we swore we were out of hats.

About a week or two later, he slapped a Donate button on the site without first asking me (or explaining to the users why it was there), I made a one-line sarcastic post about how I was glad I was consulted about this. Then he went off on me publicly about how I was ruining Donkdown and the site would be so much better without me.... and the rest is history.

    Back on topic...

I have had a Jewish fear that my new HP computer (purchased in early November, received last week) would go for cheaper on Black Friday. Keep in mind that it's "customized" on the HP site, and also keep in mind that I got a great deal at the time, so I figured Black Friday wouldn't beat it. But I was still concerned.

So I got an e-mail from HP today that they were selling laptops "up to 50% off" and that I should click for their "doorbuster laptop sale". Uh oh.

Recall that I paid about $1075 plus tax for my computer, and then got a $150 customer service credit later after they screwed up the shipping badly.

But ignoring the $150 (which was a customer service credit, not a discount), I wanted to see if their "doorbuster" was going to beat the $1075 for the same computer configuration.

So I ran through their "doorbuster" sale and customized the computer, and it came out to...

    $1339

So much for Black Friday doorbusters.
