Refugees now and refugees then are a very different thing.
They are in the process of investigating what went wrong in Paris -- how they could have missed the planning of such a large-scale, well-organized terror attack committed by guys already known to have terrorist ties.
Basically they have already uncovered a lot of intelligence failures and dumb oversights, but one perplexing thing was how some of these known terrorists managed to sneak back into Paris undetected via Belgium (where this plot was hatched). It is now believed that they did so on falsified passports, and they are taking a hard look at whether these guys managed to get in claiming to be "refugees" and using a false identity.
Given ISIS' resolve to attack us, we cannot give them such an easy path into the country. It is too difficult to tell the difference between legitimate refugees and terrorists with phony documentation purporting to be refugees.
One of the biggest reasons we haven't had another organized terror attack since 9/11 has been the difficulty of getting foreign terrorists into the country without being detected. This is why ISIS decided to mostly abandon the strategy of sneaking into the US and committing acts of terror, and has instead taken to the internet in order to radicalize existing US citizens. Still, that is also detectable, which is why so many terror plots since 9/11 have been thwarted.
If we simply let Syrians come here at this point who claim refugee status, ISIS could easily sneak in a large number of operatives, and we could have another Paris incident on our hands fairly soon (or perhaps even worse).
Basically when you have a strong and growing terror organization out of Syria threatening to attack the US, you don't let a shitload of Syrians into your country and assume everything will turn out fine.
Anonymous thinks they're going to be world heroes now:

... and ISIS responds:
http://fortune.com/2015/11/17/isis-anonymous-idiots/
ISIS called Anonymous "idiots" and asked, "What they gonna hack?"
Keep in mind that Anonymous did the same idiotic posturing after the Charlie Hebdo attacks in January, and all they managed to accomplish was getting some Twitter accounts shut down.
Hey, wait... you know what you should do when you discover ISIS Twitter accounts? How about monitor them and try to use them for intelligence? You know what you SHOULDN'T do? Shut the down and force the communications to take place in private where you can't see it anymore.
Good job, Anonymous.
I really hate when Anonymous takes on social or political causes. They just end up looking foolish and ineffective.
They should be focusing where they really CAN be effective, such as exposing/disrupting unethical companies, exposing/harassing bad people, and exposing political corruption.

Separate from what the CIA chief Brennan directly says, there's a good chance that continuing to accept refugees is a way for the CIA to bring assets who have run their usefulness safely out of the field.CIA's Brennan defends Obama's Syrian refugee plan
By NICK GASS 11/18/15 11:34 AM EST
CIA Director John Brennan joined the White House on Wednesday in defending the administration's plan to resettle some 10,000 Syrian refugees through 2016, urging a balance between civil liberties and the need for the government to protect its citizens.
“We are a country that prides itself on its tradition of welcoming people from around the globe. There is no other country on the face of the earth that is more of a melting pot than the United States," Brennan told attendees at the Overseas Security Advisory Conference, remarking that the United States must "make sure that we are able to maintain our commitment to those values."
At the same time, he added, "I think it makes it even more incumbent on the security and intelligence professionals to make sure that we are able to look at individuals who are coming into this country" with an eye toward what they know about those people to monitor how terrorist organizations might try to penetrate the flow of refugees.
"And so one of the things that I certainly am determined to do" in concert with colleagues in the United States and abroad, he remarked, is to strengthen the system to monitor such activity.
Brennan's comments come as GOP governors have been trying to shut their borders to Syrian refugees in the wake of last week's terrorist attacks in Paris, fearing that Islamic State fighters may slip into the United States with them. Republican leaders in Congress are also pushing legislation that they said would create more safeguards against the threat. The White House, meanwhile, has been pushing back against efforts to undermine the resettlement plans.
As far as what could be done to strengthen that system, Brennan reiterated the need to strike a balance from a legal and political standpoint to ensure that government is playing a "rightful role in protecting its citizenry."
"And for many years, decades, centuries, we have had experience about what it means to be vigilant in the physical domain," Brennan said.
On the technology front, Brennan acknowledged that the "great debate" over what government's role is in the digital domain.
“I think that this is one of the fundamental challenges that this country is going to face in the coming years," he said.
All (almost all?) the identified Paris terrorists are native born Belgians and French, aren't they? We just don't have Muslim born domestic terrorists in any numbers.
Why are Syrian refugees different than Iraqi or Afgan? There was the same chance than Al Queda might have tried to slip one in then.
And maybe at least take the widows and orphans? Christiecreme was saying he was even afraid of the infants. Jesus, what a fat pansy. Can we at least take the fucking orphans? We don't really have a problem assimilating Arabs in this country. Dearborn, Mi is the second biggest muslim population (or was) in the US after NYC and it's a very pleasant place. Non radical muslim assimilate fine.
The problem is that many terrorists are already radicalized in their teens, so by including "orphans", you have to make sure you're not taking in radicalized teens. And regarding widows, there were some female terrorists involved in the Paris attacks.
However, I will say that there isn't much harm in taking in only widows and children 12 or under. That won't be much of a threat.
I don't worry about little kids coming here from Syria and growing into terrorists.
I am worried about existing terrorists getting into this country in a large enough number to organize a sophisticated attack.
It's super hard to get accepted here, so you probably shouldn't have much of a problem. We're taking a ton less than places like Germany, so it's really not going to affect us either way.
It's just a chance for Republican presidential candidates to appeal to the lowest common denominator, many on this board qualify.
This story gets better each day:
"The blonde-haired woman, said to be Aitboulahcen, became Europe's first female suicide bomber when she detonated her explosive vest moments after telling police 'Help me, help me'."

Surprisingly she went for the 72 virgins in heaven bait. I wouldn't have believed that a female would be tempted by that, but here we are setting all kinds of precedents.

U.S. House Votes to Halt Syrian Refugee Resettlement Program
AND IT'S VETO PROOF!
Lawmakers in the U.S. House voted to essentially halt a program aimed at resettling thousands of Syrian refugees fleeing their war-torn homeland — a move that could potentially complicate President Obama's Middle East policy efforts.
The vote, 289-137, also reflects shifting sentiment on an issue where emotions have run deep in the aftermath of a deadly terror in Paris last week which left 129 dead. The House bill would require the FBI to create a background check of any refugee who spent time in Syria or Iraq after March 1, 2011.
The measure also called for the heads of the FBI, Department of Homeland Security and National Intelligence to personally vouch that those admitted aren't a threat, a requirement the White House in its earlier vow to veto the measure called "untenable."
The bill has a veto proof majority and 47 Democrats joined Republicans in voting against the measure. It is unclear if the Senate will take up the measure after they return from Thanksgiving recess.
"It's a security test, not a religious test. This reflects our values. This reflects our responsibilities. And this is urgent," Speaker Paul Ryan told reporters at his press conference on Thursday prior to the vote..
The carnage in Paris sparked worries from a growing chorus of lawmakers on Capitol Hill and more than half of the nation's governors that America could face a similar attack. The Obama administration's plan to resettle 10,000 Syrian refugees to the U.S. in the next fiscal year, opponents say, opens the floodgates to people whose backgrounds have not fully been vetted, are loosely tracked and could have the intent of carrying out terrorist acts on American soil.

So far, none of the terrorists identified in the Paris attack have been Syrian refugees.
The Obama administration went on the defensive about the plan, which the president has said is at the core of American values.
"Slamming the doors in their faces would be a betrayal of our values," Obama said on Monday at the conclusion of the G20 summit in Antalya, Turkey. Syrian "refugees are the victims of terrorism."
All week in briefings with governors, congressional leaders and members of the media, high ranking Obama administration officials have underscored that those seeking asylum in the U.S. undergo rigorous background screenings from several federal agencies and lengthy in-person interviews with Homeland Security officers.

In the hours leading up to the vote, several House Democrats said they would vote to halt the Obama administration's Syrian refugee resettlement plans and White House Chief of Staff Dennis McDonough and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson were dispatched to quell concerns within the caucus.
"I believe that the bill sponsored by (Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas) is not a good bill and it is counterproductive to our national security and homeland security efforts," Johnson told reporters after a Democratic caucus meeting on Thursday morning.

A number of lawmakers in the House, including 47 Democrats, remained unconvinced despite hearing from McDonough and Johnson during a caucus meeting just hours before the House voted.
"What I'm really afraid of is a foreign policy that creates more widows and orphans," Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C. said on Thursday during a hearing on the topic in a direct retort to President Barack Obama's comments earlier this week that those who want to refuse refugees entry to the U.S. are "scared of widows and three-year-old orphans."

Wonder if Tsaernaev will be watching the football game tonight?"When you think about political violence, there’s 'How do we stop it?', and if we can’t stop it, 'How do we respond?'" says Victor Asal, director of the Homeland Security Certificate concentration at the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy. "One of the components is resilience – how do you get back to the way things were. And that’s different than finding out who did it."
"In Jerusalem, when a terrorist attack happens," he adds, "if you walk by six or 12 hours later, you wouldn’t know it. They clean it up and they get people going."
The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg, writing in Bloomberg View on Tuesday, also cited Israeli resilience. A decade ago, arriving at a Jerusalem cafe the day after a terrorist attack there killed seven people, he found the scene nearly indistinguishable from any other day. "There is no satisfactory solution to the problem of mass anonymous violence," he writes. "As a result, resilience becomes the paramount response. Keeping your wits about you as individuals, as a government and as a culture is what counts."
Gordman, here's a message from a wounded vet that I endorse. And if you support GOP pols, you are part of the problem with why vets aren't getting the support from the government that they need and deserve.

Next!Disabled Veteran DESTROYS Cowards Who Won’t Help Refugees
Tom Cahill | November 19, 2015
“Don’t use me as your fucking excuse when a week ago you were happily voting away my benefits and healthcare.”
As Congress prepares to vote on a bill that would make it harder for Syrian refugees to enter the country, a disabled veteran’s social media post destroying conservative arguments for not accepting refugees is going viral.
In a post last night on the image sharing site Imgur, user HappyJones claimed to be a disabled veteran on the edge of homelessness, only able to have shelter due to existing federal programs that helped cover his/her housing costs. HappyJones also pointed out that conservatives against taking in refugees are being hypocritical by arguing that they should help veterans before refugees, since Republican members of Congress have repeatedly voted to deny healthcare, housing, and jobs to veterans in the past.
“The same people who call me a lazy good-for-nothing looking-for-handouts freeloader are the same ones saying we can’t accept refugees because we ‘need to take care of our veterans and homeless first,” HappyJones wrote. “How is that supposed to happen, exactly…?”
“Don’t use me as your fucking excuse when a week ago you were happily voting away my benefits and healthcare,” HappyJones continued: ... "Fuck you."
The post has received roughly 70,000 views as of the time of this writing and is generating dozens of comments.
“A-fucking men to that brother.. I served for 8 years.. The only thing I asked for is Uncle Sam to hold up his end of the bargain,” wrote Imgur user ERROR404Davenotfound.
The Imgur user who posted the viral rant is likely referring to the memes posted recently by conservative pages. For example, the image below shows a homeless veteran with the text “FEED 10,000 SYRIAN REBELS? HOW ABOUT WE TAKE CARE OF THE 50,000 HOMELESS AMERICAN VETERANS FIRST?”
While Republicans are accusing President Obama of putting Syrian refugees before homeless veterans, they ignore the fact that both Barack and Michelle Obama have actually done more for homeless veterans than any other administration in history through their Zero: 2016 initiative — a goal of reducing veteran homelessness to zero by the end of 2016. In a July interview with The Daily Show, Obama claimed that since 2009, his administration cut veteran homelessness by 33 percent, which Politifact rated “Mostly True.”
In fact, as a result of the White House initiative, the state of Rhode Island is on track to end veteran homelessness by the end of 2016. Houston, New Orleans, and Winston-Salem, North Carolina have already succeeded in eradicating veteran homelessness. This highly-successful campaign is the most underreported victory story of the federal government in the past decade.
And when Republicans are calling on Democrats to put their money where their mouth is and personally accept a Syrian refugee into their home, at least one Democrat member of Congress has accepted the challenge. U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Ma.), a veteran who served four tours in Iraq, has criticized Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker’s position for turning a cold shoulder to Syrian refugees and personally opened his home to a refugee.
“When we change our values, ISIS wins,” Moulton told the Boston Globe.
Finally some sanity and another great post I wish I had the ability to do...
A soccer game between Greece and Turkey today, the Turkish fans were cheering the bombing in Paris..
A upper echelon.cleric today named abba dabba doo or.something like that. Announced that they will.start using weapons of mass destruction. That right there gives us the moral authority for strategic nuclear strikes...
Maybe the next republican presidential will work with Putin who is currently the leader of the free and sane anti globalist world and we could coordinate with him to eradicate the infestation from this planet. Then we could divy up what's left..
