The problem is that many terrorists are already radicalized in their teens, so by including "orphans", you have to make sure you're not taking in radicalized teens. And regarding widows, there were some female terrorists involved in the Paris attacks.

However, I will say that there isn't much harm in taking in only widows and children 12 or under. That won't be much of a threat.

I don't worry about little kids coming here from Syria and growing into terrorists.

I am worried about existing terrorists getting into this country in a large enough number to organize a sophisticated attack.
It's super hard to get accepted here, so you probably shouldn't have much of a problem. We're taking a ton less than places like Germany, so it's really not going to affect us either way.

It's just a chance for Republican presidential candidates to appeal to the lowest common denominator, many on this board qualify.
