You should hear local radio. Everyone is screaming sell sell sell at the trade deadline. Personally, I feel like the east will be close the entire way through, and we will have a shot the whole way. If either Howard OR Utley can come back to being the player they once were, or even a portion of that after the all star break we could have a shot.

Also, rumor around our city is that Hamels, a california kid, is headed to the Dodgers in 2013
Will be happy to see Hamels in a Dodger uniform, but I'd rather see another big bat.

The lack of hitting is going to catch up with the Dodgers as soon as they stop getting surprise performances out of their mostly minor league lineup.

They're off to a 37-21 start, even after that 5 game slide last week. Hopefully they don't fuck this up and make the moves necessary to keep the division lead.

Yeah, after playing them for four games straight I came to the conclusion we are almost the exact same team. Your bullpen is ALOT stronger, but I'd give the nod to starting pitching to us(although you have outperformed our aces to this point, it's a long season)

Both of our batting lineups are sub par IMO. You guys have just had a nice heater going, and everyone is chipping in at different times. I common factor in championship teams.

I think you and the Giants will go down to the wire. Both teams will pull away, as the DBacks and Padres are absolute garbage, and both teams will beat up on those two clubs.

Dodgers haven't put a run on the board in 30 innings now...

In a tie for first with the Giants now...

If something doesn't happen real soon I have real bad feelings turning in my stomach now...

    Yup.

Ned Colletti sitting on his ass while the punchless Dodgers chunk off their NL West lead.

There is only so long that a bunch of minor leaguers can carry you.

What an embarrassment that series in SF was.

I'm surprised the Dodgers didn't get in/try for Youkilis. White Sox absolutely stole him, trading a utility player and a post-hype pitching prospect who had been traded 2 times already.

Yeah they stole Steroid Manny in 2008 and gave up virtually nothing. And he was the force that changed them from a .500 club to a playoff team. Well, I guess the roids were the force, but you get my drift.

Getting really sick of the Dodgers sitting on their asses doing nothing about their offense.

Youkilis to the Dodgers just made too much sense apparently. What other contender right now needs help at both 1B and 3B? You would also think the red sox would rather trade to the other league. Hence, why I was shocked at how little they got in return for him from the white sox.....unless a majority of scouts think that he is too banged up/permanent injuries. He's been ripping it up in the first couple games for the other sox though.

But yes, the Loney/Uribe combination at the corners needs to be replaced quickly if they have any hope of winning that division. Dbacks are coming on strong also.

    Guy is an idiot...

Is there a worse GM in all of baseball than Ned Colletti of the Dodgers?

Look at all his horrible signings:

    1. Jason Schimdt - 3 years/$47 million..... 3-6 with 6 ERA in 2 seasons.
    2. Andruw Jones - 2 years/$36 million..... .158 avg 3 Homeruns 14 RBIs 76Ks. Released after 1 season.
    3. Juan Pierre - 4 years/$44 million...... 1 Homerun & 100 RBIs total in 3 seasons
    4. Rafael Furcal - 3 years/$30 million..... batting .136 (During 2010) and always injured
    5. I don't even want to talk about Ted Lilly. $40 million.

If you wasted $200 million of your company's money, shouldn't you be fired?

Exactly...Youkilis is on the down swing but better than either of those two...Even I could play better than Loney...

Your list was good until you named Juan Pierre and put up his homerun and RBI numbers as the stats making it a bad signing.

Yeah, and Youkilis would be a good fit for a team that has holes at 5 of its 8 position spots. A buy-low guy who might pay off long term. With the Dodgers not having the greatest of farm systems, they should target a few guys like that, and hope that they produce. They kind of already did that with Abreu.

If San Diego has no qualms about trading in the division, I would go after Chase Headley.

There is a worse GM. That fucking clown for the Phillies. This dipshit paid a declining first baseman $125 Million and got suckered into overpaying for Cliff Lee. And the Phillies were the only team bidding on Jimmy Rollins and vastly overpaid. Their minor league prospects are non existent.

The Phillies are probably the worst team in the National League in terms of age/payroll. You want to see a last place team in the making for 5 years? It's happening right off I-95.

Amaro jr and the phillies fell victim to bad luck...they did deplete their farm by trading for halladay and lee, but who couldve seen the disaster coming of this season ? Howard and Utley out all year so far (although Utley came back last night and homered), Rollins an enigma again, Halladay seems to be fading away, and also is hurt now, etc etc. They paid to keep a core together, and that core disintegrated all at the same time this year.

The contract they gave placido polanco though, now that was dumb. also the fact their manager still manages like its 1990 and refuses to use papelbon (while the rest of the bullpen blows) in non-save situations is mind-blowing.

Not to mention, they will not have enough payroll to keep their best pitcher, Cole Hammels. See, they gave a 30 something Cliff Lee $25M a year. Just fucking hilarious. You pay a guy $25M and basically give up on a World Series MVP.

The only good move this fucking guy made was not resigning Jason Werth. Look for Ruben to make a huge move for A-Rod. LOL.

They don't have the payroll? Do you even know what you're talking about? Looks like you don't.

What is their payroll? I love when people say why horrible moves a team makes when something bad happens out of nowhere. Whatever your team is, if they went out to get Lee and Halladay for you you'd be calling them the best gms in the world. Especially dating back a year and two years. You're just a clown.

I can't wait til the trade deadline this year just to see what the Phillies will do. They know they don't want to spend to keep Hamels with their current commitments, but will they trade him? Its not like they can trade any of their other big-contract players without only getting back ten cents on the dollar for any of em with the way this season has gone.

If I was Amaro, I'd be hitting up the Rays right now, although of course the rays dont usually trade for big contract guys. AL east is tight, and rays go 7-8 deep with sp's. Try to pry a couple of the young ones (Cobb, Davis..plus throw ins) for Hamels.

I personally don't think the Phils buy OR sell at the DL. I think they'll see Howard coming back with Utley getting into the swing of things as a buy type improvement. I don't see them selling. Two reasons off the top of my head: the cardinals last year and the fact the east is so tight this year with each team beating up on eachother.

I think they'll make Hamels an offer after the year, but the Dodgers will offer him more. It'll be between those two teams. The only move I see them making during the season is possibly unloading Victorino for some type/any type of bullpen help. Our bullpen is putrid.

We sell out every game. They can afford to keep them all IMO.
