Why did Circe revive the mountain, or whatever his name is, and not Joffrey?

The Mountain was saved by Qyburn, who was kicked out of the maesters club for unethical experiments on living humans. He wasnt around when Joffrey was poisoned, and whats more Joffrey did not live long enough to be saved even if he had been at the party; the poison used on The Mountain was designed to keep him alive (in horrific agony) for some time before he died.

Also one has to temper ones definition of 'revived' when discussing Gregor, since clearly Qyburn basically Jeffrey Dahmer'd him to some extent and now hes some sort of hugely strong automaton. Who knows if he even has a head under that helm anymore.

news/thoughts on season 6...

interesting... no filming in croatia for season 6... so basically there wont be any outdoors scenes in kings landing and no more meereen for a while either. this seems to imply that jamie ditches lands end entirely and just fucks off on a bit of a walkabout. this is interesting because it means jamie and breinne are basically in play and given that michelle fairley is in the mix, perhaps this sets them up for a

experience.. it also makes me wonder if peter dinklage is going to be super duper bench warming this season since hes pretty much been told point blank that he has to stay in meereen and unfuck everything dany did. so i guess we can expect a few thrilling examples of his political accumen and a lot of drinking and whoring, at best.

also i think we can expect lots and i do mean lots of dying of greyscale dude and swarthy hustler guy riding around on horses seeing who can be more distant and enigmatic. gaaaaay.. just fuck already.

on a distinctly unwelcome note i think the lack of croatia also means we are in for a lot of screen time with fat pussy wanna be maester and his gross girlfriend, and feral skank and her pet stark kid.

other'n that, i hear max von sydow is playing A Really Old Tree with bran.. and al sweringen is probably going to play the itinerant priest who travels the country side, pointing out how fucked up everything and everyone is thanks to the latest power skirmishes. which honestly is making me nervous because nothing can sink a show harder than throwing in some supernaturally good actors with a history of upstaging everyone else on the planet.

So I just started Downton Abbey and who's minding the piss pots but..

By analyzing casting requests and so on, it appears that the next season is going to have a fucking ton of backfill.

Which makes sense, from an economic perspective; they skipped at least 2 seasons worth of subplots getting here (Kingsmoot, Stoneheart, Riverdale, more). Why risk running out of material?

The problem is, one of the most attractive things about the TV series was that it 'trimmed the fat' getting to where it is now. No one wanted to see most of those subplots realized because they were pretty much just tedious filler with zero relevance to the central issues.

Even more alarming is that now that the central issues are taking the spotlight, needless distraction filler is going to be even more needless and more distracting.

Gotta wonder if this season is going to suck dicks.
