Was suggested this movie from another forum. Best reco from someone yet. The most laughs I can remember having in a flick. This is a New Zealand bred film directed by Jermaine Clement of the Flight Of Concords fame.

It is a mockumentary. Real World with Vampires meets This Is Spinal Tap is the easiest way to describe it. I've watched it three times in the last week (yep, I know tight life) and catch new laughs each time. Plus Ryhs Darby is in a side role, can't go wrong there.

I'm a big Stargate nerd, but I can't bring myself to watch Universe because I know it gets prematurely canceled. Same reason I've denied myself the (supposed) pleasure of Firefly.

Please force yourself to watch firefly, it looks like a simple sci fi but it's so deep... I love stargate and battle star galactica. S.g.u. is a little slow the first season but you have to watch it, it is admittedly "sweet sorrow" I also recommend Babylon 5 and it's spin off crusade.. YOU JUST GOTTA!

    Not watching enough movies.

Finally saw Imitation Game. 10/10 Perfect.

    Interesting on so many levels.

If you had a notion that Turing was the modern day father of computer science & not Steve Jobs you will find yourself amazed at what you never knew and won't forget.

Kill all the geniuses theme too. This is a standard play for society.

    Speaking of kill the geniuses.....

HBO Montage of Heck Kurt Cobain documentary coming soon. 8 years in the making. Unrestricted access granted by family. Apparantly no Courtney Love involvement, thank god.

Cobain the anti Jay-Z. (tidal such bullshit about giving music back to the artists.... yeah, especially if you and Madonna are the majority owners.... Leave no nickel lying on the street)

It's hilarious that we as a society think everyone can be a dr, a lawyer, an engineer. Some people are just fucking stupid. Why can't we just accept that?

    The Cabin in the Woods

Average horror movie but with an interesting twist that turns it into a good movie.

Let me say this first; it's totally mis-advertised. Like insanely so. It's a taught, gritty, dark, moody suspense piece and the commercials/advertising all scream GANGSTER CRIME THRILLER at volume 11 which is exactly what it's not. It's very well done. People are comparing it to The Godfather because they lack the imagination to see beyond a broody intense Italian lead in a cashmere coat as anything but derivative, which is simply embarrassing and super typically American. Elements of the ending feel like someone had to appease the studio a little, but that's life. A directors cut might resolve that someday.
    ^Almost all of this.

Don't see if you're longing for the typical gangster bloodbath shit. Really good acting performances, lots of nuance/subtlety if you appreciate that sort of thing.

Agree that the ending was thin though. Kind of reminded me of Gomorra in the sense that it takes an alternative perspective on the world of crime not usually explored.

I jumped a bit at the site of the Yellow King from True Detective.

Hot Tub Time Machine 2...not as good as the first one but not as bad as I thought it would be.

Fast and Furious 7...it's Fast & Furious on crack, tons of unbelievable action scenes.
It made $150 million the first weekend in US/Canada theaters, I think it's a guarantee that Paul Walker will be back for Fast & Furious 8, 9 & 10.

    Looking forward to HTTMII.

I don't think Arnie was in Terminator Salvation. I could be wrong though since I didn't actually see it.

Correct, they only used his likeness(face) thru CGI and put it on someone elses body.

    Draft Day

Not good. If someone watches this movie and knows nothing about the NFL they may enjoy it, slightly. However if you watch this and know anything about football at all, this movie really sucks. Another reason to hate Kevin Costner. WTF happened to his career?

    Sabotage

Seemed like I'd watched this for 3 hours and noticed it was half way over. A couple of cool things happen, but they don't tell you how they happen, wasn't waiting another 3 or 4 hours to maybe find out.

    Lucy

Really liked this movie. Kind of a chick version of Lawnmower Man. Cool affects, good story and at times very thoughtful. 6.4 on IMDB, Closer to an 8 in my opinion.

Waterworld followed by Postman in a 2 year span. He burned enough other peoples money that most studios lost interest/faith.

I'm not sure where to post this, so I'll do it here, has anyone seen Bloodline, its a new series on Netflix?

Its slow to start, so i doubt it will be real popular here, if you can get through 3 episodes it is fantastic.
It has Ben Mendelsohn, the guy that helped Ryan Gosling rob banks in place beyond the pines, & the scummiest of all scumbags on Animal Kingdom. He was also in Killing me softly. (This guy is so real to me, could be one my cousins)

He is the black sheep of the family coming home. The parents are Sam Shepard & Sissy Spacek,
The FBI guy from wolf of Wall Street/Coach from Friday lights is his cop brother.
Then 2 other siblings, the sister was on madmen. Set in the Florida Keys.

I can't say too much, of course he wears out his welcome real fast.

I actually liked the postman but water world sucked. One too many post apocalyptic movies.. whether it's Tom sellek or James woods or Kevin Costner conservative actors don't get the same breaks or do overs. Liberal actors could give a net loss to studios for years when you factor in there salary but they still get invited to all the red carpet events because there one of the "good" people.
