It sucks being disabled. And it is a pain in the ass to get benefits to kick in. Even though you might have paid into the SS/medicare fund your entire working life, you still feel like a piece of shit for getting disability. Plus there's plenty of people around to make you feel like a piece of shit for getting it. You take a huge hit to your lifestyle and if you don't have savings, you need help to get to this new lifestyle. I can't imagine being in the position to have to get some money from the poker forums, it must be humiliating. But it's better than losing everything.
