Moving from Oregon to New York, Moving Advice Needed

This community has great advice about all kinds of things.

I got two cars and a house full of stuff. What are the options to move all this shit to new place in New York?

1. Get a moving truck. How much should this cost? I dont want to get ripped off. I am guessing this could be easily be 10-15k?
2. Get those pods and fill it up with shit and then have the company move it.
3. Sell everything except for expensive stuff and start over.

Anyone ever do anything like this?

Trade you AR15s/semi-auto rifles for bolt action rifles and/or pump action shotguns...your Glocks, XD's & MPs 9mm for revolvers of .38 spec, .357mag or .45 caliber, ...load up on quality hollow point ammo for the revolvers as they aren't fussy about what they shoot....New York Safe Laws are safe only for criminals & cops, for citizens its another story entirely--but bolt actions rifles, pump shotguns and revolvers are better than nothing (just compensate for lower firepower with better bullets)

Honestly I have invested in a bunch of patents (nothing I invented) over the years and all but one have been a bust. But one has hit and part of the deal is that I can continue to be involved in the invention but requires me to relocate.

Interesting read about how they used funding from Kickstarter to get going then sell out. I noticed on Twitter yesterday that there are a lot of people who bought in that are pissed about them selling to Facebook. This is almost as bad as selling off your bitcoins at $10 given that the Kickstarter investors(proper term?) get nothing and the Oculus execs are golden.

What did they think was going to happen? Successful startups are often purchased. Kickstarter guarantees its backers nothing. Some companies promise they'll ship you the item they're developing for free but that's usually it. Backers have no say in anything and own none of it. What the fuck are they complaining about.

I'm with you on that one. The biggest bitching point that I seem to be seeing is that the nerd community is mad because they sold to Facebook. I guess somehow they thought that the tech would stay in the realm of indie developers and not go to a company that they despise(for whatever reason). It's kinda like how a lot of people freaked out when Microsoft bought out Skype.
