If MtGox really Full-Tilted away everyone's money, I think Bitcoins are going to crash big time.
This might be a major major major bitcoin scandal in the making.
mtgox does this fairly regularly.
usually they are getting ddos'd.
but honestly at this point its 50/50 that its ddos v a federal injunction freezing their accounts.

Broken BTC withdrawals from Gox are piling up bigtime as we speak. There are nearly 200 broken transactions -- totaling almost 4000 BTC -- and some have been waiting more than four days!! Most are stuck due to outpoints already spent. Data is here: http://skanner.net/MtGox/mtgox_tx.php
And yes, 25% of my own BTC are currently stuck (26 hours and counting).
There has been zero official acknowledgment of the issue, and they're not even responding to support tickets related to this situation. The only contact anyone has made with them is with their IRC consultants who don't know a damn thing. The IRC support stated that they think "it is being caused by a bug or attack of some sort," but they haven't provided any additional information at all.
This is getting serious... VERY serious.

Interesting, I didn't realize that MtGox was marking up their prices for awhile. I have only been lightly checking bitcoin prices, and have just been lazy and looking at Gox.
All this time I thought BTC was in the $900s, but it isn't.
MtGox shows it at $933, while most other exchanges are in the $790-$800 range.
Not that they mark up prices. Just that it has always been easier to buy than sell which naturally inflates price.

There has always been a huge discrepancy between various exchanges.
Bottom line; the more reliable they are, the faster they deal with cash-outs and transfers, the lower the prices of the currency.

I gave up on MtGox, for over a month I was trying to get my USD balance transferred to my local bank account without success.
In the end I just bought coins with the USD balance, and transferred these coins to another exchange.
My current exchange is awesome, all transfers are instant and if I sell BTC it takes less then 24 hours to have cash in my bank account.
Doubt MtGox are running a scam or going broke, their fees are excessive and they're making millions... they're just inept.
OK the non-MtGox exchange does sound pretty awesome.
Which exchange are you currently using?
You're in the US rumsfield, there is no such thing as an exchange that is going to give you good service.
If you have a foreign bank account however, hollar at btc-e.com. They are an obvious euro crime front but they make too much money on the legit side to rock the boat.

Pokerhost which runs on the Merge network has a scammer on the network sending out messages for people to send funds in the form of bitcoin to them for a deposit bonus into their Merge account. It's clearly a take the money and run case but I guess it's only happened on the Pokerhost skin on Merge so far.

Anyone here want to hazard a guess how much BTC will fall when/if it is announced gox is going out of business?
I figure 650, a guy who is waiting to buy into BTC said he thinks 500ish. Curious what anyone else thinks ?
