lol. Good for them. Looks like the kid needed a good beating. And he got one. Special shoutout to the K-9 unit. Hopefully this little pecker learned a lesson.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.

I am not one to hate the police or vilify them when they show a little more force than necessary in certain dangerous situations.
For example, I hate when police are criticized for shooting a guy who pulls out a knife at them, but hasn't used it to attack them yet. As far as I'm concerned, if you pull out a knife when confronted by police, you deserve to be shot.
However, I don't agree that someone should be beaten to death just because they have a long criminal record, nor should they be attacking someone to this degree just because he shouts at them across the street.
Admittedly there could be somewhat of a valid excuse if they were ordering him on the ground, and instead he was daring them to come get him and refusing to comply. At that point, tackling him and cuffing him is reasonable, but I am still seeing too much of "We're going to attack this guy because we're the police and he's an asshole" going on.
If you support abuse like that, you might find yourself to be a victim one day.
Druff, you saw the whole video, and this clown at best was drunk and disorderly. You keep drunkenly MFing a bunch of cops after I'm sure they told him numerous time to get on his bike, then you get what you get. Once they made the decision to arrest him, he clearly was resisting, or they would have had him secured much earlier. The knees are standard procedure to get a suspect to acquiesce and get his hand behind him. They finally had him secured when Starskey rolled up with the dog.
From the k-9 officer's perspective, he is going to assist officers who are dealing with someone who is resisting. The problem is the cops didnt want to get bit so they pulled their hands away just as they had him sorted.
End result, 200 stitches. Who's at fault? The dumbass IMO.
Do you really think the dog was unleashed because the 5 cops were struggling to "secure" the guy, and they needed help from a dog?
To me, it was a clear case of piling on and causing maximum punishment and pain.
And why did they do it?
Because they could.
Bottom line, there's a ton of cops out there who are bullies who walk around every day feeling above the law.
And they get away with it too often.

I have been in this spot before... It goes a little something like this...
cop: put your hands behind your back
me: Why, I didn't do anything
cop: GET YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK
me: but sir, I
swift headlock and leg sweep to the ground, followed by the knees and elbows to the face....
me: o-ww
cop: STOP RESISTING
me: im not (and im really not at this point)
cop: elbow elbow kneee, stop fn resisting
me: o.k o.k please stop
sort of how it seems to work

The real world doesn't work like this. Cops don't go around giving beatings for the hell of it. They clearly told this little punk to take a walk and nobody gets hurt. Peckerface then antagonized them for the next 3 minutes, starting as soon as he crossed the street. This called for a lesson and he got it. Saying death is proper punishment may be extreme but less punks like this the better as far as I'm concerned.
I've never had a problem with cops. I was friends with a lot of them back when I lived in Ct. These fuckers put their lives on the line and get paid relative shit plus its a thankless job.
As far as that cumstain with 92 arrests over ten years....I'm sure he's missed by many.
