vegas youre right but im not saying he can win at trial. if it's on tape and there isnt a procedural or constitutional law fuck up by the police he will almost certainly lose at trial (unless the prosecutor is incompetent or the judge or a juror is a fossilman fanboy). but the power of having money in a situation like this is the ability to present to the state a possible war of attrition that the state will have to fight just to get a conviction for a relatively harmless crime. state makes a cost benefit analysis and sometimes says fuck that noise, "here's a plea offer". state has no motivation to do that now that raymers attorney just told the whole world his client is guilty. perry mason shoulda said either "my client looks forward to clearing his good name in a court of law no matter how long it takes for justice to be done. in the meantime, please give my client and his family some space" or "no comment".
