Then Dorner was allegedly spotted by a state Fish and Wildlife officer in the pickup truck, sources said. A vehicle-to-vehicle shootout ensued. The officer's vehicle was peppered with multiple rounds, according to authorities.

Dorner crashed his vehicle and took refuge in a nearby cabin, sources said. One deputy was hit as Dorner fired out of the cabin and a second deputy was injured when Dorner exited the back of the cabin, deployed a smoke bomb and opened fire again in an apparent attempt to flee. Dorner was driven back inside the cabin, the sources said.

JESUS CHRIST!!! How bad is the reporting of today? LAPD is now saying NO BODY HAS BEEN RECOVERED!!! The cabin is still too hot to search and no one has been found inside. All these media reports that his body has been confirmed are COMPLETE BULLSHIT. Not only has it not been confirmed, they haven't even searched the damn cabin or found any body at all.

The Associated Press, ABC News, CNN and Los Angeles Times are reporting the news, with an AP alert specifically stating that a "charred body found in rubble of burned cabin in Southern California mountains," is reported to be that of Dorner. In addition, The Los Angeles Times reports that the LAPD is preparing to hold a press conference to announce the news that they have recovered what is believed to be Dorner's body.

No chance. They have not entered the cabin at all. CNN is now reporting that there is no way even if they were able to go in there would they have removed a body yet. Crime scene photography needs to be done before any body is removed. That probably won't even happen till tomorrow.

Bro he didnt escape he ran back inside then the place was set a blaze in 1 min. I heard it all then there was a gunshot heard from inside. Why they are not reporting that yet is funny. It was yelled by 3 different ppl over the scanner. Also lol at them not thinking it was secure for fire rescue they had troops on the ground checking rooms after the gun shot was heard and there was a report of matress against door and blood splatter over the scanner. They knew he shot himself and are letting him burn.

That isn't correct. He shot the police in a car chase after they tried to pull him over, it wasn't at the cabin. He ran into the woods afterwards and that is how he ended up in the cabin.

They are just covering their ass in case some crazy family members claim they killed him without due cause and tried to sue them or some shit.

Much easier to say he killed himself and all the evidence is gone, too bad. Nothing to see here move along.

There is a decent chance this guy has some family duck taped to their dining room furniture as we speak.

Until Tuesday, authorities didn't know whether Dorner was still near Big Bear Lake, where they found his burned-out pickup last week.

It's believed that Dorner broke into a house near where his truck was found and tied two people up.
