Wow. I'll stay away from this thread. Seriously speaking, my initial thoughts were the guy was simply in a tough spot and got behind and would eventually pay it back. After these recent revelations, it appears this was definitely systematic behavior. Usually I defend the little guy, but there is no defense here whatsoever.
Im buying the rights to this saga.
Apparently Jasep just quit that MMA game one day without telling anybody. Kinda pissed some people off. Someone made a memorial t-shirt. I tried and tried to find a larger version, but to no avail...

"Juan stole 408's door" wins best tag ever.
So let me see if this timeline looks right:
- Pre-2010: John is working at Verizon and dabbling in daily poker tournaments; he also plays an online game called MMA Tycoon
- sometime in 2010 he gets into a car accident and recieves some type of settlement
- He gets invlved with real MMA promotions (about as profitiable as a live $2/$4 limit holdem game) and ends up owing some people a little bit of coin --somewhere along the way he meets AJ from BSA but the two originally have an MMA clothing line called Butcher Shop
- He returns to MMATycoon in late 2010 as well as his first appearance at Donkdown in early 2011 (sees donkdown radio has sponsors and gets an idea)
- Filthy Limper is born and BSA is sponsoring the show despite it being extremely small in the beginning
So, here are the questions:
Did Jasep own part of BSA and they were just saying BSA was an advertiser to look more appealing ot other advertisers?
Does Jasep still owe these MMA guys money?
Maybe Kevin or Tim could verify this accident he always talks about and if he was involved in MMA promotions beyond what we've seen

After learning that Johnny had a partner named Anthony in an MMA clotihng company I 'm starting to think he was part owner of BSA with AJ, and the whole sponsorship of Filthy Limper was a sham (to entice other sponsors and give the show some credibility) just speculation, but what are the chances he is involved in two different clothing companies with a partner named Anthony?
Maybe the MMA thing blows up in their face and they resurface as a poker company. From what I can tell the Butcher Shop clothing line was a zazzle company or something, but the BSA is far more professional (maybe they used the money they scammed from MMA to do BSA right?) Again just specualtion

I am sure this is all a big misunderstanding.
Any information that Drexel or another who is in touch with the RI authorities can present and which tends to show that Jasep is either a recidivist/serial offender or otherwise poses an ongoing risk to the public is very significant. Without knowing the individuals involved there every Probation Officer and Assistant DA is buried with files and anything you can show them that pushes Jasep's file up to the top makes it that much more likely they will take some action to shut him down or bring him in.....
80 % of men in providence are named anthony but worth looking into obv as in anything at this point.
Couple things that don't add up.
1. Sep just randomly meets this guy A.J. and convinces him to sponsor some podcast that was brand new and was dull (pre-Brandon) and he just signs a whatever year deal (1-2 I don't even know) for $300 per month.
2. Was filthy limper sponsored by Blind Squirrel right off the start?
3. When Zac Hart approached A.J. about not sponsoring VPR Sep had this info right away. It is possible that he is tight with the guy but he seemed to know the details.
But at the same time he did ask me/Brandon to keep quiet about calling Zac out publicly.
Looking back on this now Zac Hart turned out to be right that someone @ VPR was a scammer but at the time he was just making it up.
Also possible Sep didn't want people digging for anything if we did call out Zac publicly for calling VPR opwners scammers.
Lot off things to speculate on but I am leaning toward the T-Shirt thing NOT being a coincidence and it is probably tied in somehow
I don't know how you track results for online poker these days (apparently PTR doesn't work for Stars anymore), but it looks like Jaseps handle on Stars was JohnnySep. Might be interesting to see what his results looked like. As far I can tell he was playing online as far back as 2008.
Maybe the public perception would be, and maybe if you owed to a bookie back east, but anyone in the poker community knows, (pretty sure I'm semi-quoting azzclown here) it is just a bunch of pussies.
Lederer wouldn't be walking around town if he ripped off MMA fighters instead of poker players.
