I also said that they were a fringe element and did not influence policy. At the time I said it, I was right. They did not influence first term Trump policy at all. Trump had no choice but to accept support from the groyper contingent. They were loud, they were posting funny memes, they were an enthusiasm machine. He needed every vote he could get. Yes, now some of that is coming home to roost. The Israel situation opened that door -- it was what that group needed to attempt to graduate from fringe to mainstream. I care about the Epstein case only in so far as it’s an inside baseball look into a situation I’m sure is still occurring. And quite frankly, the political penalty Trump has paid to keep it hidden tells me that whatever entities were in charge of running it are still operating.
