UT got obliterated by Georgia, maybe if they lost a one score game they’d deserve a spot, but they got stomped on.
They also went to OT with Kentucky and Miss St…those teams both suck.

How weird is college football now? The Hoosiers are the number one team and will soon have a Heisman winning QB.
If one hurries it might be possible to get Texas Tech at 11 to 1 still. I don't think they are all that close to being the real favorite, but there does seem to be value. And there could easily be a guaranteed profit from a hedging situation.
This is coming from someone that dislikes Ohio State - they are still probably going to win, and this type of loss might actually benefit them just like last year even if it means not getting a bye, especially if they end up facing Indiana again - it will be a blowout.

Truly HOF worthy postgame interview. ROFL.

At Skatz we ride with the corgi prognosticator.
Why is James Madison and Tulane both in the CFP over Notre Dame? I understand putting in 1 crappy conference winner and have them be a 20+ point underdog in first round playoff game. But 2 seems like too much. Seems like if you just dump one of those teams (I would dump James Madison, as they only played one mediocre Power 5 team and lost decisively) and put in Notre Dame things would work out good.
The bylaws mandate it. Five highest ranked conference champions get in automatically.

Supposedly the seniors voted for this. Even if true, it's stupid and makes the team and school look like a bunch of pussies.
Damage like this to your school's brand and reputation sticks. Can't believe the AD and coach would allow it.
"The Irish are the only school to have a representative on the 11-person CFP governing board made up of a commissioner from each of the 10 FBS conferences."
"In an interesting wrinkle, as part of a memorandum of understanding signed by CFP officials last spring, Notre Dame will be assured of making the playoff if it is ranked in the top 12 starting next year, Bevacqua tells Yahoo Sports. For instance, if this year’s circumstances unfold next year, the final at-large team (Miami) would have gotten automatically bumped from the field for No. 11 Notre Dame."
"If the playoff is expanded to 14 teams and there are more at-large berths added to the field (from seven to nine), Notre Dame is guaranteed into the field if it is ranked No. 13 or better, according to the MOU."

Why do the other conferences allow this?

In all seriousness, I really do think the Big 10 and SEC need to break away from this system entirely. From a business standpoint, they hold all the cards.
Back to Notre Dame. A Texas/Notre Dame matchup would have been way more intriguing than Texas/Michigan.
Texas Tech seems to have the easiest path.
I was having so much fun watching Notre Dame fans break down that I was ready to start a rumor on college football twitter that the only media representative on the college football playoff committee was Ivan Maisel, a new member just placed in 2025, who is a Jew carrying water for his network overlords.
That they were making an example of Notre Dame this season on behalf of Nick Fuentes and Candace Owens, both vocal Catholics, and put in Finebaums team instead as a fuck you. That if Notre Dame wanted to make sure they weren’t 13 going forward, and to return to being media darlings. this was a warning shot to get their monkeys in line.
I’ll have to tweak it, but I think I can get this rumor trending.

This list is legitimate. Saw this first in an SI article.
I have a visceral disgust for all things Notre Dame. I grew up very close to South Bend and I have oodles of first-hand experience with the smug, entitled, holier-than-thou (literally) attitude. It’s pervasive at every level, from President the Most Rev. Dr. Father Whoever all the way down to the lowliest Walmart fan. Unfortunately, my mom (who I love dearly) is a cult member and I get texts about their greatness all the time when they beat up on a service academy. It’s exhausting
Just for fun, Here’s Notre Dame’s 2026 schedule:
vs. Wisconsin (At Lambeau Field)
vs. Rice
vs. Michigan State
@ Purdue
@ UNC
vs. SMU
vs. Navy (in Boston)
@ Syracuse
vs. Miami
vs. Stanford
vs. BC
vs. USC
That’s 7 home, 3 road, 2 neutral. Toughest road game is Syracuse. 4 straight at home to close it out.
Absolute fucking joke. Fucking PLAY SOMEBODY.

The ridiculousness of this made me laugh out loud - the joke seems nonsensical but it's actually just really simple. I know he's Cajun, but there's a ton of these types of guys in East Texas - excellent joke and story tellers, the art is in the delivery.
