My first trip to China was in March 89.
Just before the Tiananmen protests & massacre.
Import/export and I've evolved to meet the market, whatever that may be. If I make something in Aus or Europe, if I need to make design changes it takes months, 48 hours in China.
Last time I was in Shanghai there was exotic cars everywhere, fresh faced youngsters driving them... not fat old fucks.
Shoot the messenger if you want, but the writing has been on the wall for over a decade.
Your roads and infrastructure is falling apart...unlikely this will change.
You need China more than they need you. South America and Africa are burgeoning markets for them. Least your credit is still good while the US dollar is clinging to it's position.
Get used to it, you were the worlds number one super power... bask in the memory.
You peaked in the late 70's or early 80's
It's not even close anymore.
You can't bully them with your military either. Hyper-sonic missiles you can't stop, including hydrogen bombs.
Drones and robotics will be the future of warfare.
Keep your heads in the sand. Mickey will never believe it while he lives in his trailer, sits on his mobility scooter playing slots all day. Complaining about the liberals ruining everything while he struggles to keep his b-grade health insurance. Along with rest of your unhealthy, ageing population.
It's already game over. You're drawing dead.
