Took a pretty sick beat a couple hours ago. Not Rams-Eagles level sick, but pretty bad.
Cal is +6 vs Virginia. Virginia is up 3 with the ball around the Cal 15 yard line with 30 second left (Cal has used all its timeouts) and it is 4th and 2. They decide to go for it. So I just have to fade them scoring a TD. Ideally they get a first down and dont score and kneel down time. They dont get first down.
So now Cal has the ball around their own 15 with no timeouts and 30 seconds. Not really enough time to get in FG range with Cals lousy kicker where I have to sweat OT. So I just have to fade defensive TD.
And yep, you guessed it. Defensive TD and game set match.

Somehow it slipped my mind. I didn't think, "I need to bet this", nor did I think, "I'm just gonna give advice but won't touch it."
I answered the question honestly, then didn't go to the next step and think, "If it's such good value, why am I not betting it?"

Two NFL picks for me this week.
Atlanta +189 at New England - Penix is back, and Patriots have padded their record by beating the Dolphins, Titans, Browns, Saints, and Panthers -- and they even lost to the Raiders. They have had a cakewalk most of the way. Look for a Falcons bounceback after last week's humiliating defeat to the Dolphins.
Las Vegas vs Jacksonville - Under 44 - Raiders are averaging slightly more than 14 points per game, which is 2nd worst in the NFL. Jax will miss Travis Hill, and their offense has scuffled badly the last two games anyway. I don't know who is going to win this shitshow, but I can't picture this being a high scoring affair. Despite the Raiders giving up 180 points in 7 games, they're actually in the upper half in several defensive metrics.

Maybe this will be the week that Druff finally realizes Drake Maye is an elite NFL QB.
The point about level of competition is valid. I think the computer is accounting for both sides of the argument if Maye was a Made QB at home this would be -7. If the Patriots were a paper tiger the computer would have no problem making the Falcons a slight fav on the road.
Maye wins a few more with the 80% comp % the days of less than 7 will be gone.
