“You know why divorces are so expensive? They're worth it.” – Willie Nelson

You hear the news cycle du jour - data centers are a huge burden to local grids and consumers end up financing the need for increased capacity for guys like Musk and Bezos.

The idea that data centers ought to be “closed fence” … that the power ought to be sourced “off grid” be it nuclear or natural gas is bubbling to the surface this week.

Dedicated nukes for data centers will be a thing. Willie Nelson knows

In general terms the abandonment of nuclear years ago is now a source of consternation by countries like Germany.

1dollarboxcar: i trail some etfs with their top 1 or 2 holdings in my individual stocks, almost have to check daily, there just isn't enough time in the day to do this, but i am and do, do this for a couple of other etfs i own...

I am trying to figure out if I am the best stock picker on PFA or is it just that 1 out of every 10 stocks has a up 25% day once the CEO comes out and says "AI" or "Quantum Computing" or "Rare Earth" or "electricity".

    Nope - clearly the later.

Here's Why Investors Should Retain DraftKings Stock for Now

DraftKings Inc. DKNG is likely to benefit from customer acquisition strategies, new product rollouts and Jackpocket Integration. Also, the emphasis on the surcharge solution bodes well. However, elevated marketing expenses are a concern.
    Factors Driving DKNG Stock

Strong Customer Acquisition: DraftKings has demonstrated significant progress in acquiring new customers in its Online Sports Betting and iGaming sectors. Customer growth surged by nearly 80% year over year in the second quarter of 2024. Even in the absence of new state launches, DraftKings continues to thrive, displaying resilience and efficiency in its customer acquisition strategies. The company anticipates this trend to persist throughout the rest of 2024 and potentially into 2025.
Anyone else buy Draft Kings stock? I re-visited them today and bought a little bit more, curious where they are going, seems positive.

Good call on Mother Druff for sure. And I have never said "emergency" radio, but this is not an important topic for Druff to discuss. The numbers seem to be self evident.

Three stonks I have my eye on and money in currently

$MP MP Materials - Its a material and magnet play with Rare Earths. "Only" a 12B Market Cap which means plenty of room to grow. Good orderflow blook with buying indicative of accumulation.

$NOK Nokia - they are back, this time as a network and AI play. Earnings just showed a 12% increase to revenue. Long way from its $50s valuation of the 90s, but still room to move up.

$SOUN Soundhound AI - trying to put commercial and monetary viability of talking to computers. Tough to fully replace fast food order takers unless the customer can order something properly. Being able to talk to the computer and gave it understand you is a valuable tool.

Espoo, Finland – The Board of Directors of Nokia Corporation (“Nokia”) has resolved to issue 166 389 351 new shares in a directed share issuance to enable NVIDIA Corporation (“NVIDIA”) to make a USD 1.0 billion equity investment in Nokia. Subject to certain customary closing conditions, NVIDIA will subscribe for the shares at a subscription price of USD 6.01 per share. The transaction will see NVIDIA become a 2.90% shareholder of Nokia.

The strategic partnership and investment are expected to create significant value for both companies.

Yeah looks like Nokia got the boost from the NVDA announcement that I was hoping for CCCX. It’s been interesting, still hopes for gains around the end of the year.

My other big play was AEVA, that I was buying since 2021 had a good run up to 30 or so that I cashed in on and still have a decent amount.

I've owned Sunoco (SUN) gas stock for about 2 years now and its been a good performer, but now looks like its going to get really interesting-

Sunoco wins regulatory approval for $9 billion buyout of Canadian company
Texas-based Sunoco makes $9 billion deal to buy Canadian fuel distributor
