It seems that the inside information about Lebron sitting out games came directly from Jones, who had befriended Lebron at the time, hence was privy to this info.

One of the big concerns right now is that the affable Jones cozied up to Lebron and the Lakers in order to gain access to lots of nonpublic information in the 2022-23 season, and they're afraid that the fallout from this will be especially bad. Even though there's a high chance Lebron knew nothing about this, Jones' actions have drawn the game's biggest star into this awful situation. Basically Lebron befriended and trusted a guy who was shipping out private info to organized crime, for purposes of illegal insider betting.

According to the article, without the Jones part, NBA execs felt they could weather the storm regarding Rozier and Billups, as these could be dismissed as isolated cases of two players and one coach acting badly. However, Jones' actions will make lots of people wonder -- how many other NBA insiders are rigging bets?

The only saving grace here is that Jones is not accused (to my knowledge) of rigging game outcomes -- only reporting nonpublic info to this cheating ring.

FWIW, Damon Jones has always been a friend of Lebron James, going back to their playing days. After he retired, he probably only even got the assistant coaching job on the Cavs because Lebron arranged it. He didn't need to "cozy up" to him for nefarious purposes. He only had to exploit the relationship he already had.

Hugely beneficial in gambling and when DFS was new, no one was watching this stuff. The EDGE you'd have with this information, just printing money which Rozier did. Apparently even post games went to his house and counted the winnings 200k etc I read, very stupid but he was brazen, he may do time. Rozier went out the game early so all his unders hit now if you knew he was going to tank that night, obviously you print money. Which the closest associate's i'd assume did, and Rozier apparently. And lol making 26M+ (Billups too) a year and feeling ok grimming 200k in illegal poker schemes and insider like trading in DFS.

Especially Billups, given that he had his hand in both the poker cheating and the sportsbetting info scheme.

Feds are probably going to want to send a message to players who do this type of shit.

We will see what happens to Porter, who will be sentenced way before these guys.

Took some looking to find a pic of that Shane dude. Was surprised he was unfamiliar to me being a Pittsburgh guy back in the day.

I would be interested if he was initially associated with the gambling group over there that I used to deal with.

I recall when I first moved to Pittsburgh finding the biggest poker games in town, and from there finding the best books in town that took large bets.

They were already using the modern model, but one I hadn’t encountered in 2000 until finding them.

It said he actually wasn't in jail since his January arrest, which is surprising given he was trying to flee the country prior to that.

In 2009, Hennen was arrested for stabbing another guy. He was 24 at the time. That would make him 40 now.

Hennen went by "Peter" at the infamous rigged Mars games in 2022. He was alleged to have been part of the cheating there, though he denied it during his brief appearance on X at the time. The victims there claimed that they were threatened that "Peter" was a dangerous guy and would hurt them for bringing this public, though Hennen apparently didn't threaten anyone himself.

When the radio host mentioned the website Poker Fraud Alert, I flashed back to all the times I pleaded with Druff to clean this place up. I was like- oh no, dont direct the decent and normal people to this trash site, the resident retards will crap on anyone and again tarnish Druff's professional poker image. I wonder if Hennen snitched back in January, and they had been gathering evidence ever since.

They grabbed him as he was about to board a plane to Colombia for “dental work” (lol).

However, it’s been 9 months and we haven’t seen any movement in his case. It was said he was negotiating a plea deal.

Maybe he offered to give up this larger operation in exchange for a favorable deal.

A radio listener texted me, and said they knew Shane a long time ago, and that he basically cheated and hustled in everything.

So I've been putting out feelers in the gambling world, and everyone is insisting that, yes, Shane Hennen was the informant here.

Mafia buff Jeff Nadu (who I don't know personally) also agrees. He put out a video insisting that Hennen was the informant, and noting that Hennen was a federal informant on a cocaine dealer way back in 2009.

Makes total sense though. Hennen realizes in January that the feds are sniffing around, and it's a matter of days until he's behind bars. He buys a one-way ticket to Colombia, but is stopped at the airport and taken into custody.

I'm picturing he says, "Hey guys, forget about this low rent Jontay Porter shit. You want a big bust which will get everyone's attention? How about a big sportsbetting cheating ring involving Damon Jones, Terry Rozier, Chauncey Billups, and the mafia? Oh, and how'd you like to know everything about a poker cheating operation which was taking place for over 6 years, also involving Billups?"

They say sure, work out a deal, and get investigating. Nine months later, the hammer falls.

Chauncey Billups was not the only Athlete/Celebrity involved. I've heard the name Tyronn Lue mentioned a few times. Makes sense because Lue and Billups have been besties since AAU ball. Also heard the name Kevin Garnett, but I'm not sure how he was involved.
