    TESLA cars and CYBER truck

Druff- I know there is a "Elon is God" thread, but its too polluted with other junk. Please let us focus on Tesla cars and trucks here. Thanks

Tesla rolled out new, cheaper versions of two of its electric car models, Model Y and Model 3, in hopes the offerings will help revive flagging sales.

Tesla offers cheaper versions of 2 electric vehicles in bid to win back market share in tough year

As I've mentioned, I am in the market for a new SUV. Mine is 11 years old, has high mileage, and an oil leakage/burning issue. It's functional, but I don't trust it to go more than 100 miles from home, and a complete breakdown would not surprise me at this point.

It's at a point where I probably won't even sell it private party, because if I'm honest about the condition, I will just attract lowballing assholes, and I definitely wouldn't lie about the condition and rip someone off. I seriously might just trade it in or sell it to a dealer -- things I tell people never to do, and which I've never done myself.

I have considered getting a Telsa SUV to replace it (though not a Cybertruck).

However, I am not sure I am willing to go full EV yet, nor am I particularly enamored with the weird regenerative breaking system Tesla uses. I don't like change when it comes to the ways cars operate, unless it's subtle.

Unlike some libs, I do not have any personal issue with Elon himself (not even after X banned me twice), so that's not a factor in my decision.

My biggest EV issue is the range. I hate the idea of having to stop in the middle and wait 15 minutes (minimum) for it to charge, on the way to Vegas. It is so much nicer to just jump in my car with a full or mostly full tank of gas, drive straight to Vegas, and not bother filling up until I am ready to go home (or, at worst, sometime while I'm already in Vegas).
