    Is the world funny?

A question from an intellectual to a comedian.

Marx immediately makes fun of the question.

So the question is put in it's place with no answer

You know what they call wrinkles on your face you get from frowning too much?

As a joke goes it's ok, it qualifies.

The joke would be better if it was more accurate. Groucho brought on magnitudes of smiles more than frowns.

The question from Buckley is valid but ultimately stupid. How do respond when asked such a question? With a joke.
Marx goes on after this joke for a minute or so exposing his intelligence

Buckley, in his question mentions observance.
IMO observance is key to comedy. You don't necessarily have to be smart to be funny but observance is essential.
