Idaho is ending participation in Powerball lottery due to Australia joining Powerball this year and Britain next year. Idaho lawmakers fear funds from Powerball will be used for anti-gun measures in Australia and Idaho's last Powerball drawing will be on August 23.
Jeff Anderson, director of Idaho lottery, warned lawmakers that this will cause decreased funding for schools and be a burden on the people of Idaho. He also attempted to convince lawmakers to stay in the Powerball by assuring them that China would never be allowed to join.
